This vehicle was purchased by a couple from Texas who where on vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car was in the Ford dealership showroom window there, and the woman said to her husband, " I would like that for my birthday " He bought it for her! Two years later back home in Texas she said to her husband she would like to ' upgrade ' to a Mercedes.
He bought her the Mercedes she wanted, three weeks later she left him! Needless to say, whenever he looked at the T'bird it brought back bitter memories.
A couple from Holland, New York were on vacation in Texas, they saw the car and immediately bought it. The husband actually drove it back to his home and the portholes in the hard top were removed, a pole put through and it was hung up in the garage where it stayed untill I bought it. It had never been put on the car since 1959. The new owner never took it out in the rain, his wife assured me it had never gotten wet, other then washing it. He only used it on Sunday outings to the local cruise nights and car shows.
She decided to sell it in 2000, I saw it on the internet and as it wasn't very far from me, I went over to see it, when the lady lifted the garage door I knew immediately I would buy it.
It had 64,000 original miles on it ( confirmed by the DOT invoices which show milage each year ).
I have the original invoice.... The car was all original including the paint. Except for the Kelsey Hayes wire wheels and S/S exhaust system.

There is a plaque under the hood denoting that the "BEACH BOYS ", Frankie Vali " and the Temptations had rode in the car to a concert in Buffalo NY IN 89/90.
Since I have owned the car, I replaced the original shocks with radial tuned shocks, put in a radio... AM1, AM2, FM1, FM2, Cassette and 10 disc CD player with stereo speakers, I had the original paint taken off to bare metal, I was amazed and so was the body shop, no body work to be done at all... I had it done in original color Hard Top as well, in basecoat/clearcoat, with a total of 11 coats, each one rubbed down. It came out more than beautiful, it is amazing.
