In the late eighties and early nineties Poland was conquered by a musical nightmare - the so called Disco Polo style (very similar to the Russian popsa). It combined elements of Polish folk rhytms, boorish texts and music from the cheapest synthesators.
The song Mydełko Fa (recorded 1991 by the Polish filmstar Marek Kondrat and the singer Marlena Drozdowska) is as an obvious parody of Disco Polo... but obvious not for everybody. Disco Polo fans didn't realize the parody character of the song and accepted it almost as their anthem. |
