The Faldor are related to Northern Dwarves and are the result of forced crossbreeding between them and the Elves… This couldn’t have happened without a great deal of trial and error and dark magic, as the two races are not normally genetically compatible… The result is a versatile, agile race of individuals who are equally gifted in physical and intellectual activities… These beings are also known as Snow Folk… They live in the highest mountains, and only come down into the valleys rarely in the summer season, when the mountain passes are open again… They burrow their lairs into the hard ice and snow where they can hide from predators and evil folk… They have a reputation for hospitality and they often welcome rare guests for months on end… Many of them have become Mages and Rangers, as they are both agile and have great memory capacity… Their sworn enemies are the Nirkar, whom they see as being twisted evil images of themselves… They also believe that each Nirkar is some sort of double roaming the land to take their place, duels are not uncommon… It is also said that Faldor stash their riches in secret hideouts, and a lot of them are hunted for this reason and tortured in order to find out their whereabouts… It would appear that his is not improbable, as they do tend to pass down their family riches from generation to generation…
