KRTU ANNUAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

This competition shall be held annually over 54 holes and shall be opened to all qualified male members with a club handicap of 18 and below at its commencement.  They shall have participated in at least 2 monthly medals or club organized competition in the last 6 months prior to the date of the Club Championship except the defending Club Champion who will automatically qualified.  There shall be a cut-off mark for the final round of 18 holes for 60 players basing on the best 30 gross score and 30 nett scores.  The Club Champion will be decided on the 54 holes gross score for the PIALA JAGUH.  The nett winner is also decided on 54 holes and will be the holder of the PIALA HANUMAN.

                                Male members of 21 years and above.

                                15 Gross Winner, 15 Nett Winner, 3 Daily Medal each Division 

                                 for Day 1 & Day 2 and 6 prizes on the Final Day.

Competition Rules

MANAGEMENT

 

The 16th KRTU Annual Club Championship 2003 shall be managed by the Activities Committee headed by the Vice Captain of Kelab Rekreasi Tentera Udara and whose decision shall be final in all matters.

 

VENUE & DATE

 

The Championship shall be played over the Kelab Rekreasi Tentera Udara golf course from Friday July 25, 2003 to Sunday July 27, 2003.

ELIGIBILITY

The Competition is open to any KRTU members who:

a.       On the day entry closes, his status is active.

b.       Possess a current handicap of 18 and below.  Players who belong to more than one club and their handicap is not link with NHS must declare their lowest handicap.

c.       Has participated in at least 2 Monthly Medal or Major Competition in the last 6 months prior to the Championship.

d.       5 Best winner of Rabbits Cup 2003.

e.       The Champion of year 2002.

RULES OF PLAY

All play will be in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf of St Andrews and the Local Rules of KRTU.

STARTING TIME

Competitors are requested to report to the official registration counter TWENTY minutes and report to the official starter TEN minutes before their starting times.

FORM OF PLAY

The competition shall be decided on STROKE PLAY over three (3) rounds of 18 holes, subject to the Organizing Committee’s right to cancel any round at the discretion in the event of circumstances which make playing of 54 holes impracticable.

The competitor who returns the lowest GROSS score for 54 holes or thereof shall be declared the Champion of the 16th KRTU Annual Club Championship 2003.

There shall be a cut-off mark for final round of 18 holes for 60 players basing on the best 30 Gross and 30 nett scores.

THE HANDICAP EVENTS

Competitors participating in the Championship also qualify for this event.

The event shall be played over 54 holes in conjunction with the Championship and the competitors who returns the lowest aggregate NETT score for 54 holes shall be the winner.

DAILY MEDALS

The Daily Medal shall be for the following divisions:

    A Division     -   Handicap   0 -12

    B Division     -   Handicap 13 – 18

    Mode of Play

    Day 1  - 18 holes BOGEY Play

    Day 2  - 18 holes STABLEFORD Play

    Day 3  - 18 holes STROKE Play

SLOW PLAY

Competitors are to take note of Rule Of Golf 6-7 regarding undue delay.  In the interest of fair play the Competition Committee will not hesitate to impose the penalties provided by the Rules.

CADDIES

A competitor shall not engage any person other than a caddie to assist him during play.

Penalty:  Disqualification

APPROVED BALLS

Only those brands appearing in the current list conforming to 1.68” Golf Balls may be used.

Penalty for use of a brand not listed:  Disqualification

TIES

In the event of a tie for the Champion, the players tying shall as soon as possible continue to play off hole by hole starting for Hole No. 18 until the Champion is decided by elimination.  The purpose of the play-off shall be to decide the Champion only.  In the event of tie for any other place the tie shall be decided on a count back in the following order:

  1. Best 18 holes Final Day
  2. Best 18 holes Day 2
  3. Best 18 holes Day 1
  4. Best last 9 holes Final Day
  5. Best last 6 holes Final Day
  6. Best last 3 holes Final Day
  7. Best last 2 holes Final Day
  8. Best last hole Final Day
  9. By draw lots

ENTRY FEE

The entry fee is RM88.00 per member and that includes breakfast and lunch on the final day and to be charged to members’ account.

CADDIES FEE

Turf Mate or caddie shall be RM 25.00 per round of 18 holes and to be charged to members’ account.

REGISTRATION

Those eligible to participate in the competition may submit their entries through the official form available at the Golf & Sports Counter on or before 12pm on July 23, 2003.

DRAW AND TEE-OFF TIME

Notice of draws of tee-off time shall be posted on the Club Notice Board on July 24, 2003 @ 9:00am.  A competitor may advise the Organizing Committee of their preference of his tee-off time in the entry form.  This request may be met if situation permits; otherwise the Organizing Committee reserves the right to fix the draw as it deems fit.

WET WEATHER

In case of wash out or rain, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to decide the completed day of play to be considered for the competition.  Players may only stop play and then resumes play at the Siren signal from the Club.

NOTE

Lunch and Prize Giving will be at D’Hornet Restaurant.  Please observe dress code for the D’Hornet Restaurant.

general Competition Rules

1.    Management.  All KRTU golf competition will be managed by the Activities Committee.  The Organizing Committee are answerable to the Club Captain through the Vice Captain for the proper and efficient conduct of the competition.

2.    Eligibility.  KRTU golf competition are open to all KRTU members.  The Organizing Committee reserves the right to impose the following:

a.    Restrict to men only, ladies only, junior only or men and ladies mixed, depending on type of competition.

b.    Limit the handicap.

c.    Restrict to members who are Active Status Only.

d.    Restrict the number of participants for any competition.

e.    Reject any member from participating in any competition.

f.    Reject or accept entries after the closing date for entries.

g.    Stop or postpone and/or decide the outcome of the competition before end of play.

h.    Draw up other special competition rules and conditions for a particular competition.

3.    Authority of the Organizing Committee.  The Activities Committee(s) are authorized to make decision on behalf of the Club Captain regarding Golf Competitions.  The Activities Committee(s) shall consider all appeals but any decision made after hearing all the available facts shall be final.

4.    Rule of Play  All play shall be in accordance with the St. Andrew Rule of Golf and KRTU Local Rules.

5.    Competition Fee.  Competition fees will be determined by the Activities Committee for each competition.

6.    Tee Marker.  Unless otherwise stated, all play shall be from blue tee markers for men and red for ladies.

7.    Decision in Case of Tie.  In the event of a tie in any competition the winner shall be decided by the universal count-back system i.e. last round of 18 holes, last 9 hole, next 9, last 6, last 3 and last hole etc. until the tie system is broken.  If the winner still not decided by count-back, it shall be decided by drawing lot.  In the case of deciding the Club Champion, the winner shall be decided by continuing play for a further number of holes to be decided by the Organizing Committee.

8.    Approved Balls.  Only those brands appearing on the current list of conforming golf balls may be used.  Penalty for non compliance: Disqualification.

9.    Caddies/Turf Mate.  All competitors must hire KRTU carts when they are available.  Carts fee will be charge to the golfer's account irrespective whether they are taken or not.

10.    Reporting Time.  The tee-off times for competitions will be displayed at the Club Notice Board at least 24 hours before the start of the competition.  It is the responsibility of each player to report to the Registration Counter 20 minutes before tee-off times and to report to the starter at the respective tee boxes at least 10 minutes before their tee-off times.

Penalty:  2 Strokes or Disqualification.

11.    Slow Play.  The attention of all competition is drawn to Rules 6-7 of the Rules of Golf regarding undue delay.  The Organizing Committee will not hesitate to impose the penalties provided under the rule.
