Portfolio. I hold a Master of Science in
Education degree with a double major of
Vocational Education and Recreation and a Bachelor of Science in
Education degree with a major of
Therapeutic Recreation. Currently I am studying toward a
teaching credential in Special Education with a Mild / Moderate
emphasis and a
Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) certificate
at Chapman University - Ontario, California Campus.
I have over four years of teaching experience; including my current position, tutoring 3rd through 6th grade students in a supplemental education program and a previous experience, teaching English as a second language in Russia. I have also had a successful career as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Upon completion of the Preliminary Education Specialist Credential program, my professional goals include pursuing an elementary school Resource Specialist position and continuing my education toward meeting the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing, Professional Credential requirements. During my studies and teaching experiences, I have realized a keen interest in Literacy Development and would like to become professionally involved in active research in that area, possibly during a pursuit of a Doctorate Degree in Education.
