Family Driven Faith (Voddie Baucham Jr.)
Are Miraculous Gifs for Today (General
Editor: Wayne A. Grudmen)
I
would say almost every Christian has an opinion on this issue; ironically they
have many misunderstandings of their view and especially the views of
others. Worse yet, pastors and popular
authors not only have the same misunderstandings, they often go to the extreme
of their view and any opposing views.
This issue, more then any other, is the biggest cause of division of
sincere evangelical believers. This
book, more then any other I have read on this subject, will hopefully help the
church better understand each other’s
diverse views on this provocative subject.
The Five Love Languages of Children (Gary
Chapman and Ross Campbell)
Very practical book!
Very good reminders! Some might say
it has good common sense but what I have discovered is that common sense is not
that common, so this book does not have common sense, it has good sense!

Pagan Christianity (Frank Viola and

This
book makes you think how “we do church”. The
author brings up some valid points in how “doing

health of the church!
The author
spent hours looking at microfilm to find any information on this team. There is no other book I know of that is
about The Columbus Panhandle. In reading
this book I learned a lot about local history!

Why Were Not Emergent (Kevin Deyoung and Ted Kluck)
“You can be young,
passionate about Jesus Christ, surrounded by diversity, engaged in a postmodern
world, reared in evangelicalism, and not be an emergent
Christian. In fact, I want to argue that it would be
better if you weren’t”

Gang Leader for a Day is the fascinating

poverty differently than I did before.

Amazing Grace in the light of William Wilberforce (John Piper)
John Piper
writes with a pastor’s heart and a scholar’s pen. This concise study makes for
compelling reading, with its eloquent exploration.
Wilberforce’s Christian faith
and the first principles that flowed from one cannot rightly understand
Wilberforce’s legacy as a reformer without understanding how his faith informed that legacy. Such a
faith such a legacy has much to say to us still. This is a book to savor

Too Small To Ignore (Dr. Wess Stafford)
“Children are
victimized by war, pornography, and prostitution, as well as by lack of
funding, feeding, educating, and protecting.
Yet in a few short years, the world’s challenges
will be theirs to manage. Now is the
time to act on their behalf and invests in children because they are Too Small
to Ignore.” I was surprised of how insightful and challenging this book was. When adults tried to brush children aside
when they were talking about “deep” spiritually things, Jesus became angry and invited the children to come and join in as He was
teaching. Children are not the future of
the church; they are the church of the present.
They have value and gifts that God desires to use in our churches today.

American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation (Jon Meacham)
The American Gospel 0 literally, the good news about

Shepherding a Child’s Heart (Tedd Tripp)
“With the
plethora of material on parenting and the family, it is surprising - and

Terrify No More (Gary A. Haugen)
In Terrify No
More an international team of investigators goes undercover to infiltrate this
ring of brothels and gather evidence needed to free these girls. “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; You encourage them, and You listen to their cry, defending
the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.” (Psalm
10:17-18) Stop bickering in your
churches, stop spending thousands of dollars on cheap entertainment, stop whining when you don’t get your way in church, and start being like Christ by caring for the
afflicted not your taste buds, your ego, or your entertainment fix. Good News about Injustice by Gary Haugen is a
great book about this ministry that

It’s amazing how much professional athletes put their

to be a down to earth guy that didn’t let fame and money change him.

The Sound Mind
Investing Handbook (Austin Pryor)
This book can
help you avoid the number one financial mistake many Christians make - ignoring
biblical principles when managing your money and following secular advice
instead. When you use biblical
principles as a guide, you will invest more wisely and prudently---and glorify
God at the same time. “Combines biblical wisdom with very practical and understandable
application... Anyone would profit from
reading this book.” Dr. Charles Stanley

Don’t Waste your life (John Piper)
Most people
slip by in life without a passion for God, spending their lives on trivial
diversion, living for comfort and pleasure, and perhaps trying to avoid
sin. This book will warn you not
to get caught up in a life that counts for nothing. It will challenge you to live and die
boasting in the cross of Christ and making the glory of God your singular passion. If you believe that to live is Christ and to
dies is gain, read this book, learn to live for Christ, and don’t’ waste your
life!

The Schools We Need and Why
we don’t have them (JR. Hirsch)
Renowned educator
and author ED Hirsh, Jr., argues that, by disdaining content based curricula
while favoring abstract – and discredited – theories of how a child learns, the ideas uniformly taught by our school have done terrible
harm to America’s students. Instead of
preparing our children for the highly completive,
information based economy in
which we no live, our schools’ practices have severely curtailed their ability,
and desire, to learn.

concrete guidance on the ways and means its members can rise up to seek justice
throughout the world. “I defy anybody to emerge from exposure to this

would-be readers is ‘Don’t! Leave the
book alone!” - unless
you are willing to be shocked, challenged,
persuaded and transformed.” John Stott.

A Man of Faith: The Spiritual
journey of George W. Bush (David Aikman)
With a balanced
journalistic style, Aikman gives us a candid look into
the life of George W. Bush and assesses the impact of his faith on his
presidency. George W. Bush is a man
of faith whose private Christianity is powerfully shaping our public policies,
our world at large, and history for all time to come.
A Life of Martin Luther: Here
I stand (Roland H. Bainton)
A biography of Martin Luther. "Unless I am convicted by Scripture and
plain reason---I do not accept the authority of popes and councils, for they
have contradicted each other---my conscience is captive
to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to
go against conscience is neither right
nor safe. Here I stand, I cannot
do otherwise. God help me, Amen." Martin Luther
Five views of law and gospel
(Stanley Gundry)
Do the Law and
the Gospel belong to two separate dispensations? Has the Gospel replaced the Law? What is the relevance of the Old Testament
Law to our lives as Christians? Is there continuity between it and what
Christ expects of us in the Gospel?
Applied Economics: Thinking
Beyond stage one (Thomas Sowell)
So much of our
national political debate these days revolves around economic matters -- taxes,
health care, even affirmative action and immigration policy -- that it is essential for every informed American to have a working knowledge of
economics. Now the renowned conservative economist Thomas Sowell has made it possible for you to
grasp quickly and easily the economic elements of key public policies -- even if economics has always seemed dry
and forbidding
in the past. Applied Economics: Thinking Beyond Stage One is anything
but dry and forbidding: it's a clear, concise, and
comprehensive introduction to the
economic implications of political issues.
