1987 **** 113 mins.
I am sure that this film would be even better if I had seen the first installment, titled Jean de Florette. However, even though I haven't seen Jean de Florette, I still throroughly enjoyed this beautiful and wonderful about a young shepherdess named Manon (Emmanuelle Beart) who longs to get revenge on the people who murdered her father, Jean. One of the accused is in love with Manon, and this causes many problems. As, I said, even though I have not seen Jean de Florette, the scene where Cesar discovers the truth about Jean still touched and moved me deeply.
