FRIDAY THE 13TH

1980 **** 95 mins.

I hadn't seen this film in years, and after buying the DVD and watching it again, I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I used to. However, I couldn't help but find it a fantastic horror film that, despite its plain, overly expected plot, still bleeds with creativity. I thought that it was very engaging, and for 95 minutes I was sucked into the world of Camp Crystal Lake with an eerie fascination. As I said, it's just a teen horror flick with sub-par performances, but it's still awesome!

In 1957, a young boy drowned in the lake at Camp Crystal Lake. The next year, two campers were murdered. Years later, the camp is being re-opened. On Friday, June 13th, a bunch of teens gather at the camp to work on getting it ready for the next two weeks. Well, in that one day, they each encounter his or her demise at the "hands" of an unknown killer.
Rated R for language, violence, gore, sexual content, and nudity.
