Cinderella
1950 ****1/2 76 mins.
On the most part, this is an absolutely wonderful, classic Disney tale. Everyone knows the story, of course--a young girl who lives with her evil stepmother and stepsisters longs to go to a ball. With the help of ther fairy godmother, she is able to. Then, of course, there is the glass slipper . . . The only real problem with this film is the fact that it drags on for twenty minutes about the cat and mice fighting and it doesn't do hardly anything when the ball actually comes around. It drags on when it shouldn't and doesn't when it should. That set aside, though, it bears all the distinctive qualities of a perfect Disney film.
