1946 ** 85 mins.
This is a truly disappointing outing for the Marx Brothers. Groucho becomes the manager at a hotel. All of the previous managers have been murdered. To quote the back of the VHS box I own: "And the film's gags stop only long enough to squeeze in a plot point or two." How true, how true. This film only has a plot point or two. And the gags? I probably laughed, well, chuckled, at one or two points in this film. I must say that A Night at the Opera is much, much better.
The Marx Brothers are Number 20 on AFI's 100 Years . . . 100 Stars.
