(And how you can help)
First of all, it's a screenplay which is NOT a play at all. It's a movie script that has not been produced yet.
I'm not gonna lie. It's a chick flick and a "teen" movie. But while you're reading it, think to yourself: Would I rather pay $9 to see THIS or a Rob Schneider movie like THE HOT CHICK? So my point is, don't review it like it's going to win an oscar. Review it againts movies that are crap like that. If you want to know exactly what it's about before getting yourself into something you might hate, scroll down to "WHAT THE HELL IS IT ABOUT?"
Here's what to do. Go to Http://www.TriggerStreet.com . It's a site that is run by Kevin Spacey for people who are not represnted so that directors and producers can see their work. The more ratings, the better. My screenplay is on there but I am getting ahead of myself.
First of all, go to the site and then sign up for a FREE account. Then check your e-mail for the code and link they give you. Click the link and type in the code. Then log in. Once you've logged it, go to the top of the page and click "search". The in the search box type in "Get Famous".
Now here's the tricky part (or at least it's tricky for SOME people). Make sure your search is set for "screenplays" and NOT "short films". It's in the orange background once you've clicked search. It's BELOW "search" NOT above. Then hit enter. When the screen with the link pops up, click the link it gives you. Then click either "read it" or "review it" on the left hand side of the screen. The are both orange. And you're done.
Now it IS 115 pages but you have to understand. It is double spaced and has huge margins and is alllllll dialogue. So it goes fast. If you read fast, it should take only 30 minutes to read. If you read slower, about an hour. The review takes less than 3 minutes and it's a form you have to fill out. They ask you questions. So easy. And you could really help me make my screenplay into a movie.
WHAT THE HELL IS IT ABOUT?
You know the story. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Boy does something that makes girl want out. Boy makes it it to girl. They live happily ever after.
This is not that story.
All Alicia Slate ever wanted in her life was to have her high school crush, Ben Fuller. All Ben wanted was to have sex with every girl possible. Enlisting the advice of her best friend, Liz, Alicia is told to try to "get famous" so that Ben will notice her and ultimatelly end up liking her. But now that Alicia is beginging to receive recognition for her singing, Ben's ultimate goal is to up his count by slamming it to a famous girl.
The only problem is that Alicia isn't even into starting her count. So ALicia lives in what she thinks is a fantasy world with her perfect boyfriend-- while he's sleeping with anyone with two legs. And all it should take it Ben's best friend, Ryan, to make her see just what kind of guy she's missing.
But is it enough?
