ABOUT ME, STEVIE
Home
From: Hopkinton, Massachusetts

All of this information is accurate as of July 10, 2006.

Well now comes the boring part but if you've gotten this far, I give you credit. My name is Stephanie but everyone calls me Stevie and it IS a girls name and I am a 23/f from Hopkinton, MA but I just graduated from grad school in May from UMass Amherst. I was an RA there for 3 years as an undergrad. I am looking for teaching jobs right now.

At age 17, I  was a columnist for the Boston Herald and I have written three screen plays (movies) and am currently working on three more. I also sang in front of 16,000 people at the opening game for the New England Revolution at Foxboro Stadium in 2001... And I have a cd I made. It's not very good but my mom likes it.

I love music and reading comedy books by Dave Barry, Jerry Seinfeld, Drew Carey and  listening to David Spade.  Dane Cook is my favorite comedian though. I also love watching Conan O'Brien (he is the man), SNL, Friends, Smallville, The OC, One Tree Hill, Newlyweds and Everybody Loves Raymond. But Lost is my favorite. I'll listen to anything but I mostly like Pop/ Top 40. I LOVE John Mayer, Nickel Back, Stacie Orrico, Jeff Buckley, Howie Day, India.Arie, Black Eyed Peas, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Nsync, Mandy Moore, Plus One, Shakira, Alicia Keys, U2,  and Justin Timberlake.I met Metallica backstage a while ago and also Zachary Ty Bryan and Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle. I mostly watch Comedy Central.

Um, people always ask what my favorite movies are but you gotta realize, it's a really hard question to ask. I worked at Hoyts for 2 years and Blockbuster for 1. I love movies. Here are some (but definitely not all): 5th Element (anything with Bruce in it), 6th Sense, 10 Things I Hate About You,  Air Force One (I love Harrison), American History X, Animal House, Armageddon, As Good as It Gets, Austin Powers, Back to the Future, Batman, Bourne Identity (both), Caddy Shack, Cruel Intentions, Dogma, Erin Brockavich, Ever After, Ferris Bueller's Day Off,  Gladiator, Good Will Hunting,  I know What You Did Last Summer, Indiana Jones (all 3), Keeping the Fatih, Lord of the Rings (all 3), Matrix (all 3), Memento, Not Another Teen Movie, O, Office Space, the Patriot, Pearl Harbor, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Princess Bride, Romeo and Juliet, Rush Hour, Schindler's List, Scream, Sister Act, Spider Man, Star Wars (all 3), Titanic, Unbreakable, Xfiles, and X men. Oh man... I can't list anymore. Basically I like everything.

I absolutely can not stand liars. Not that anyone likes liars. I just can't deal with them. Honesty is best policy. I'd rather hear someone tell me that they can't stand me than to have them talk behind my back. I also can't stand it when people tell me they like something just because I like it when in reality they don't like it. Be yourself! Another thing that irritates me is when people bring something up because they want to talk about it but then no one asks about it and then the person tries to slip it back into conversation! Come on! Take a hint! Also, I believe looks really don't matter. It's all about personality. But persoanlity matters a LOT. And I can't stand people who think they are better than everyone.  Unfortunately, I grew up in a rich snobby white town for the majority of my life. Not everyone was like that but a lot were, which is ridiculous. Welcome to real life... hope they aren't getting their asses kicked in the real world. I also hate it when people do things anonymously. It drives me nuts. Be able to tell someone something, good or bad, to their face. It's what being an adult is all about.

I am religious and tend to lean to the right - go figure but it depends on the topic really. I would say I am more in the middle. I have my faults just like anybody else. I have a 20 year old brother, CJ (a sophomore at UMass) and a 22 year old foreign exchange student, Moritz who I talk to/visit enough that he counts as family. I also have awesome parents - Susan and Chris and a cat, Simba. My dog, Max, just died in January 2005. I have been to Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Aruba, Canada, and England. The coolest things I saw while traveling were The Colesuem, Stonehenge, Eiffel Tower and Dachau (a concentration camp).

People always ask me what I look for in guys. It's the same thing I look for in friends. I firmly believe you should marry your best friend so they need to have the same qualities as a friend. Number one- I like guys who are ambitious (i.e. in college or know what they want in life. Not someone who sits on his ass all day doing nothing.) It's the biggest thing for me. But in a very close second, I would put humor. If he can't make me laugh, forget it.  I like guys who are trustworthy and trusting. Intelligence is key. And... I like guys who do what they say they are gonna do. I dislike it when a guy says something just to get my attention but doesn't really do it. I also like guys to make the decisions. I am fairly indecisive because I don't care. I will do anything. I also think there has to be a spark from the very first time you date or there never will be anything.

One last thing and probably it's most important. When it comes to love... I have a very different outlook on it. Here goes:  I think you can be as close to loving someone as possible without loving them before marriage. But you don't actually love them. If you want to know why, you can ask. My take on it is that love doesn't fade and if it does, it never was. Well if you have any more questions... feel free to IM me.
