Aluminum Cans Build Habitat Homes
Trinidad Can-Do
By Sara Revas
ACBHHH Coordinator

The Aluminum Cans Build Habitat for Humanity Homes program began as a fundraising project of Habitat For Humanity of Las Animas County in March of 2001. Our affiliate has raised more than $1861.13 and recycled more than 4500 pounds of aluminum from the outstanding efforts from the aluminum industry. The money will be used to build Habitat homes in our community.
The ACBHHH program accepts any scrap aluminum beverage cans.
If you would like to help Habitat by donating your aluminum, here is what you do:

-Aluminum cans should be clean and crushed if possible. The ACBHHH program has recenlty joined forces with the Las Animas County Rehab Center. Cans recycled with Habitat are turned into the Rehab and the progra benefits both organizations at the same time.
-Other scrap items such as ladders screen doors, window screen frames, care radiators, engine blocks (clean), gutters, and electrical wire (Stripped if possible) are all examples of aluminum items accepted by the program.
Local drop off sites are: Amoto Lumber Company, State Farm Ins.-Laura Debella Agency, and in the rear of Hadad's Home Furnishings.
