The first family chosen for the initial Habitat Home to be built in Las Animas County, CO is the Ambrose Esquibel Family of Trinidad, CO. Ambrose and Betty Jo are long time residents of the area. They have three children: Noah, Travis, and Shayleigh. Noah is a sixth grader at Trinidad Junior High School, Travis is in the fourth grade at Park Street School and Shayleigh is in preschool. Ambrose is employed as maintenance supervisor for the Trinidad Area Catholic Community. Betty Jo works at Wal-Mart. Together they have been very busy at their jobs and are most eager to be able to own their home. It was one year ago, at Christmas time, they were told a house would be built by Habitat for them. The family has worked very hard to help with the building of their new home. Ambrose and Betty Jo have spent many hours partnering with the builders to complete the house. Even the boys have earned sweat equity hours by getting good grades in school. Ambrose, Betty Jo, and the children are looking forward to be in their new home soon. They are now ready for the move and will be at the Garfield address for the ceremony. |
