Pennsylvania black bears are usually not a major threat or concern unless agitated by people.

TIPS:

Do NOT call the media. That only makes the situation worse-for the bears and for the public. Instead, leave the bear(s) alone and they will go away on their own.

Never make direct eye contact with, or turn your back, on a bear.

Never run away from a bear-back away slowly until you reach a safe distance.

Never climb a tree to get away from a bear-they can climb better than you can.

Call KRITTER KAMP., or the Pennsylvania Game Commission for further advice.
