We also know that a Cretan is always proud of his heritage;
bravery and courage never leave him no matter where he is,
and in how difficult circumstances he may find himself.

Opou ki' an pa-ee o Kritikos,
to passo tou den hanee,
Gia den mporee o kathe is,
ton Kritiko na kanee

For him Crete is like a sparkling diamond on Nature's dress.

O cosmos einai ploumistos
tin ora pou harazee,
ma ston afro tis thallasas,
diamanti i Kriti me-azee.

His proud countenance
and his love for Crete
makes him wish
that the whole Earth,
was Crete!

Pantou gyrno kai kouvalo
