My Story

  My name is Kristy and I'm a 26 year old mother of 4. I've searched all over the internet for a page that answered my weight loss questions in a humorous fashion. Yes, I'm overweight, but I'm not afraid to talk about it. I see humor in the ups and downs of my struggle to lose this excess baggage. I'm looking for others who share the same point of view.

  I love food, simply put, and I refuse to give anything up. I honestly believe moderation is the key. I've tried almost every fad diet out there. I've lost some weight but none of them have taught me how to eat healthy foods and enjoy them. I am NOT a rabbit and I cannot live on lettuce and I won't do it. You hear me? I just won't!

  Exercise is a huge factor in weight loss. You'd think chasing 4 kids around all day I'd be slim and trim but am I?? Huh uh, no way. Now mind you, I'm not incredibly huge but I recently put on a pair of jeans I hadn't worn for about a year. Needless to say, the results weren't good. First, I tried the "sucking in my gut thing", didn't work. Guess there was just a little too much gut to suck in. Second, I tried the "hop up and down while tugging upward on my zipper dance". This helped and the zipper did move a few centimeters at least. My little dance also got rave reviews from my 2 year old. He stood at the foot of my bed, holding the front of his little pants, hopping up and down. My last resort was lying down on the bed, holding my breath and zipping up. YES! At last I had those darn jeans on. Now if I could have only sat up. I said to my self as I rolled over and slid off the bed, I said "Self, you had one too many cookies and you'd better get these pants off before you lose circulation to your upper extremities". So it was on that day that I decided to do something about my weight.

  This page is educating me and I hope it can help others who share my desire to become slimmer and healthier. Maybe we can all help each other along the way. I have the message board so everyone can share their ideas, tips, struggles and anything else they might care to add. I'll also be posting my pics on it. I'm thinking if I know that the world wide web has access to my endeavor to lose weight, I might actually stick to it. I'll let you get back to the main page now. Happy pound dropping!
