THE SEASHELL

The sun is fading slowly, speading dusk across the land,
The ever dying ember spreading warmth upon the sand.
Another day is over, and the dolphins leap away.
Another night is dawning to the ever fading day.

The ocean waves grow softer, as the tide moves slowly in,
The world appears as perfect, as a world without a sin.
For all we see is God's great work, on the surface beauty reigns,
But looking on the inside, we all have left our stains.

The moonlight hides the harshness from the evil of the day,
The world that God created with it's people so astray.
The war, the killing and hatred, the selfishness and greed.
The problems of our earth, the hungry mouths to feed.

A seashell lies upon the sand, its pattern ebbs away,
From the rhythmic washing of the waves that smooth it, day by day.
The earth is God's creation, so exquisite and so frail,
We must treasure every aspect, and its beauty will unveil.
