History
SEALS trace back all the way to WWII from the Scouts and Raiders, or underwater demolitions team. The Scouts and Raider's biggest role in the war was clearing beaches for the troops coming by boat to the beach. 1962 president Kennedy formed teams one and two. The former president wanted a special unit that could preform unconventional warfare operations and a unit that could work in riverine enviorments. So he established the SEALS teams one and two. The personnel came from the UDT teams.

Spring 1943- first volunteers slected from naval construction battalions. The special teams were organized and called Navy Combat Demo Unit or NCDUs. There missions were to clear the beaches for other troops. The NCDUs evolved to combat swimer reconnaissance unit, also known as frogman.

The teams missions were unconventional warfare, counter operations. Teams worked both in Blue and Brown water. SEAL team two's first officer in charge was Roy Boehm, he is considered the godfather of all SEALS.Teams first detachment was in Da Nang, Vietnam and served under CIA.
