Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the Harry Potter series. Before Harry is able to return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he is visited by a strage-looking and very ugly creature, and house elf
named Dobby. Dobby warns Harry Potter that he must not return to Hogwarts becuase danger awaits him there, but he is not able to tell Harry what the danger is. When Harry is blamed for the house elf's mischeivous deeds, he is locked in
his room around the clock. At long last he is rescued by his best friend Ron and returns to Hogwarts against Dobby's wishes...or at least, he tries to. Somehow the gate to the platform where the Hogwarts Express train boards is locked,
and Harry and Ron are forced to use more creative ways to get to Hogwarts. Once at the school, however, Harry begins to regret his disregard for Dobby's words. On Halloween night, a message written in red paint on the wall of the castle
reads "THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE". Suddenly, all over the school, students are found Petrified, or in a state much like wood. Many students even suspect Harry Potter of being the one doing the
evil deeds! Near the end of the year, though, the potential danger heightens; a student is taken down into the Chamber of Secrets itself. Harry finds himself fighting Lord Voldemort once again, but this time not as a man but as a memory
of a 16-year-old Voldemort, also known as Tom Marvolo Riddle. And this time he has other stronger, deadly forces on his side...
