The first book in the Harry Potter series is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It starts out telling the tragic story of young Harry Potter, going on to show where he ends up and why.
After living in oppression for 11 years, Harry suddenly begins to recieve letters from an unknown stalker. And not just one either. Harry recieves mysterious letters by the dozen but never
discovers the contents of them until he finally meets Hagrid, Keeper of the Keys at Hogwarts School of Withcraft and Wizardry. Harry learns the shocking truth; he is a wizard, and he has
been accepted to Hogwarts. At the school he meets his two best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. he learns the basics of magic and uses his wits to overcome the forces of dark
magic, including defeating a towering, lumbering troll. Harry also learns that despite his definite lack of wizarding experience, he is a natural at Quidditch, the most popular sport in the
wizarding world. Something is going amiss, though. A secret vault in the wizarding bank, Gringotts, is emptyed and raided the next day; a three-headed dog guarding a trapdoor; the Potions
master, Snape, trying to get past the dog to whatever it was guarding. At last Harry Potter and his friends discover what the trapdoor covers and manuever their way past many obstacles until
at last harry and Voldemort meet face to face in a battle to the death...
