Well, for a while the
blanketflower has been tipping over, and I noticed something odd at the base, but didn't pay much attention to it. Finally, it got pretty big, so I took pics:





















I posted these pics on the hgtv gardening board and said: "What to do?" My friends there thought those were ROOTS wrapped around the base of the plant (that never occured to me), and told me to dig up the plant, carefully unwrap the roots, replant, and water. So I did. Now here's the really strange part: That plant didn't have a single root under the soil! That's right; the roots you see wrapped around that plant were the ONLY roots it had! And the soil there is loose, with lots of earthworms, so it wasn't that the roots had no where to go!

As an aside, I'm excited that my
passion vine is beginning to bear fruit. I will try to collect seeds.
