Yesterday, on a whim, I bought two
Clematis at Walmart for $4.88 a piece; they are what's going on the arbor. I think they will get enough sunlight there, and if for some reason it doesn't work out, it will be no huge loss. Today I planted them, with potting soil, water, and decayed leaves to help cool the roots. The purple Jackmanii is on the left hand side of the arbor (as you enter the garden) and the fuchsia Comtesse de Bouchard is on the right hand side.

I also fertilized the two small
Rhodies in the back yard (1/4 cup each of Shultz Expert Gardener Azalea & Rhododendron Granular Plant Food) , and used the same food for the blueberries (only 1/8 cup each), as per the advice of other gardeners at GardenWeb. Also dug up a lot of dandelions in the back yard today.

A few
tulips are blooming!

Fertilized the
roses today (with 1/2 cup each of Lilly Miller Rose and Flower Food [granular]), and planted the miniature rose in the ground, with some fertilizer.

A reprieve in the rain allowed me to deadhead the
daffodils today; I've never done that before, but I recently read that it's okay to do so. I also delicately pinched back the clematis and fertilized them (with Lilly Miller Rose and Flower Good [granular]; 1/4 cup each). I'm taking the alyssum seedlings outside for a bit today--the first time.
