Lead singer Brian Howes (originally from Canada) probably
wasn’t thinking of getting a band together when he went to Los Angeles to find
his biological parents. He got hooked up with Robin Diaz (drummer) and Axel
Gimenez (guitarist) though a mutual friend and started jamming with them in the
summer of 2000. When they found their bassist, Brian Jennings, they immediately
started recording demos. During those times when they were recording demos, they
came up with the name Closure, meaning that it was a closing on all their past
projects and a new beginning for the group. It was a name that everyone agreed
on.
For a band that has been compared to being practically the same as
Nickelback, Closure sure has its own sound that is rocking. Their self-titled CD
has a mixture of emotional, hard rock, and plain ol’ rock music. The great
thing about this CD is there is a song for practically every mood you are in.
‘Look Out Below’ the only single for the CD is hard rockin’ song, with the
catchy lyrics everyone loves. My second favourite song has gotta be ‘You are
My Hatred’ and ‘Whatever Made You Hate Me’ simply because it is the type
of hard rockin’ songs you listen to when you are mad at someone.
For a softer rock song ‘Live Again’ and ‘I Don’t Mind (The
Rain)’.
What is awesome about these guys, is they aren’t going to change
themselves or their music to please the critics. They play what they want and
how they want it. That is real rock, and what makes these guys awesome!
