Stones and Gems
Agates - Agates come in a wide variety of colors and several different types, including moss agates, dendritic and plume agates.  They are a great stone for protection.  Agates can also bring increased intelligence, health and happiness.

Amber - Amber is not a true stone, but fossilized tree sap from millions of years ago.  Its orange or yellow and often has small leaves or bark inside it.  Amber is a stone that has many uses.  Its  purpose uses include, but are not limited to, protection, increasing money and attracting love. 

Amethyst - Amethyst is a purple transparent quartz gem that can aid in ending upsetting dreams and is a good stone to keep with a set of runes or tarot cards to increase their effectiveness.

Bloodstone - Bloodstone is a green jasper with red or orange spots or stripes.  The green color makes it an excellent stone for money spells, to increase courage or stamina.  Its believed that when the orange or red turns white, the stones powers are depleted and it should be returned to the earth.

Diamond - Diamonds can be any color and are the hardest stone.  They can strengthen friendships and protect against diseases. 

Emerald - This gem is usually green, but can range from blue, yellow and even white.  They can invite love into the life of the wearer and also aids in money matters.

Garnet - This red gem is good to increase fertility, helps you to remember dreams, and balances your energy.  Strengthens you both physically and spiritually.

Hematite - Hematite is an iron oxide that is typically a dark, metallic gray.  When worn, it can promote continuous healing and the purifying of the body.

Lapis - This stone is usually blue purple with specks of gold.  It attracts spiritual love.  Its is a stone of truth, and also a stone of mystery.  The color has a strong soothing effect and can help aid in depression.

Moonstone - Moonstone is a very mystical stone that is usually gray or white and has a beautiful silver sheen.  Its is closely associated with the Goddess.  Because of this connection, it is known as a �woman�s healing stone� for its healing effect on a woman�s organs.  It promotes and can improve love and aids in sleeping.

Obsidian - This volcanic glass is dark black and actually looks like a chunk of glass.  Sometimes is has specks of white (then called snowflake obsidian) or bands of color.  Obsidian is a highly protective stone, both physically and emotionally.  Can be carried by those whose hearts are broken often.  Also called Apache Tears.

Pyrite - Also known as fools gold because of its resemblance to gold, It is used to improve digestion, blood oxygenation and brain functions.  Also improves optimism.

Quartz - This stone is the most commonly used by pagans.  Its easy to find and highly useful.  It comes in a variety of colors, each different color having the powers associated with that color.  (For example: Rose Quartz is pink in color is associated with love) Quartz is an all around protector and helps you to focus on your thoughts and feelings.

Tiger Eye - This stone is named for its appearance.  Although it occurs in many colors, classic tigers eye is a brown with bands of dark brown, yellow or orange.  It is a stone of luck, honesty, and fortune.  When carrying this stone, people will have a very hard time lying to you.  Its also promotes wealth and soothes emotional trouble.

Turquoise - This blue stone resembles a chewed wad of gum.  It varies from a light blue (most common) to a blue green and sometimes even green.  Its is believed to increase wisdom and wealth.  It also increases powers of healing and the mending of a broken heart.  Turquoise facilitates communication by allowing your thoughts to easily flow into sentences.  Also absorbs stress.
