Japanese Tea Ceremony
We studied Japan the last two weeks in our unit on Asia. As a culminating activity a fellow DePaul student teacher and I, with the help of our 4th graders, threw a Japanese Tea Ceremony. It was a huge success! Not only did our students have a great time but parents and faculty were invited to share this experience with us.

This was a lesson I wrote for a unit on the Earth's Changing Surface.

You can see the earthquake generator I built on the table. Students sketched their building designs on the board. This was a really fun activity that allowed the students to learn hands-on.

My second graders have been able to enjoy this project as well!
University Supervisor's Report:
Excellent and creative science lesson. Kids were enthusiastic and engaged from the beginning. You had a great balance of whole group activity and small group work. Your lesson plans and organizational skills are outstanding. I was impressed with your control considering this activity allowed such freedom for the kids. You asked appropriate but challenging questions. Great job!!
