This Web Quest will allow for the students to be able to write  persuasively using figurative language.  Also, the students will be able to develop skills in being selective with the materials they choose to view.

 

 

Specific Objectives

 

bullet

The students will be able to recognize figurative language.

bullet

The students will be able to write using figurative language (euphemisms, synonyms, etc.) to make their ideas more interesting.

bullet

The students will be able to speak using figurative language in the correct context.

bullet

The students will be able to use various links to gather information about how to write using figurative language.

bullet

The students will be able to sort through numerous links and dismiss the links that are of no use to them in this assignment.

 

 

 

General Objectives

 

bullet

The students will be able to write using a broader and more diverse vocabulary.

bullet

The students will be able to speak using proper English.

bullet

The students will be able to speak using figurative language in the correct context.

bullet

The students will be able to know when a person is using figurative language to persuade by listening.

bullet

The students will be able to enjoy learning new styles of persuasive speech using figurative language.

bullet

The students will be able to value the various techniques used in the English language to persuade.

bullet

The students will be able to appreciate the time it takes to improve their usage of English.

bullet

The students will be able to see how many useful links there are among the plethora of nonessential links.
