| Major Attraction: Busch Gardens | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It's more fun than a hot summer day. Well, you can have fun in the heat. Busch Gardens is the place to be for tourists and locals alike. It is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. You can actually travel just about the entire world in one visit to the theme park. Take a trip though France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. Whether you are a nature fanatic, wildlife lover, or a thrill ride junkie, there is something to satisfy every hunger. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A few of the highlights of the theme park are the shows. The newest show for your entertainment is called Kinetix. "Kinetix is an all-new nighttime spectacular where acrobats, dramatic lighting and driving rock 'n roll music come together to create a great night of entertainment." ("Busch Gardens") They also have a host of other dance shows, theater shows, magic shows, and animal shows. One particular animal show is the called Pet Shenanigans. It is "a hilarious live-action animal show features the zany antics of dogs, cats, birds and other animals. The four-legged celebrities will amaze guests with their high-speed hijinks and high-wire acts." ("Busch Gardens") | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The theme park has a few animal attractions throughout the entire park. For the animal lovers, there are the Clydesdales, the world-famous Budweiser horses. They are beautiful. There is a baby Clydesdale, and it is a wonderful site to see him run around and play. There is also Eagle Ridge, where you can see about six bald eagles in their habitat. These eagles have all been rescued due to injuries. "Busch Gardens Williamsburg provides a haven for injured eagles as part of its commitment to conservation and wildlife preservation." ("Busch Gardens") I personally love Busch, and I remember during the early spring time seeing a commercial for a seasons pass for Virginia residents only called the Fun Card, I jumped on the opportunity to purchase one. It was only $50, which is the price of a regular day's admission to the park. It was a really great deal. I thought to myself, 'I can go everyday!' |

| Of course I am the thrill seeker. I come just for the thrill rides, maybe a show here and there, but mainly I want to experience something that will get my heart pumping. I have two favorite coasters in the park. The first one is Alpengiest. On the ride, I transform into an alpine skier and journey through the avalanche. The ride is truly unpredictable with so many turns, and it continually flips me upside down. I never know what it going to happen next, it seems like a different ride every time I get on. I simply love it. Next is Apollo's Chariot. I remember a time when I would not get on this ride, I was terrified. Before, I wouldn't even stand in the line, after I passed that stage, I would get up to the ride, and sit in the seat, then wimp out and ask to be let off. I finally decided that it wasn?t going to kill me, so I took a chance and got on. I have to admit that it was one of the best decisions of my life. The first drop of the coaster is 210 feet. That is the longest drop I have ever been on. It takes my breath away, I cannot scream while I'm plunging. The rest of the ride is a series of humps, totaling a total of nine drops. When the ride comes to an in my adrenalin is screaming for more. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I visited the website, and it gave a hint to a new thrill ride due out in spring of 2007. The hints were: Vertical, Flight, Menacing, and Immense Strength. That's enough to make me wonder what it's going to be like. Sounds like something I will ride over and over again. However, it looks like I'm going to have to wait with everyone else. I know one thing, I will be on the new ride next season. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is just a taste of the loads of fun there is to have at Busch Gardens. I encourage everyone, who hasn't already, to take a visit and discover something new. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
