in my mind
when she used to care
about what she left behind
now she smiles
through all her tears
more than miles
from all her fears
tears of happiness
slide down her cheek
she's cleaned up the mess
and no longer feels weak
he's by her side
she smiles through pain
he's never lied
they have so much to gain
he'll never leave her
by her side he'll stay
they'll be together forever
he'll never go away
she can swear she hates him
that it'll never work out
but those chances are slim
he is without a doubt
they love one another
they hope for the best
he listens to his mother
and lets the Lord handle the rest
