A Tear
I hear it in your voice,
And I know something's wrong,
You just don't seem happy,
To be hearing your song.
So things aren't going right,
You can only wonder why,
But deep down inside,
I know you only want to cry.
Maybe life is passing by,
Too fast for you to understand,
But I don't really see,
The cards dealt to your hand.
You try to hide it all,
By covering up with a mask,
I know that you are scared,
But I really must ask:
Why do the tears stay hidden?
Is it just me or do they never fall?
Do you have to hide from me,
And sit behind a wall?
Why can't you see,
That I only want to help you?
But instead you only hide,
Afraid of what I may do.
I'm trying my best,
I hope you know I care,
There's not much I can do,
Unless you know I'm there.
So lean on my shoulder,
And let your tears fall to the ground,
Remember that I'll listen,
Even if you don't make a sound.
