My Child~Like Eyes

My child-like eyes, Have seen too much, There’s a lot, I still can’t touch, My child-like eyes, See it all at once, I still can’t explain, About this bunch, My child-like eyes, Know hunger and pain, Yet why is it, That I’ve never felt the rain, My child-like eyes, See through a different light, They don’t know, How to not see a sight, My child-like eyes, Can see your fears, They can tell what’s happened, Over all these years, My child-like eyes, Will soon be gone, I’ll see things differently, We’ll all move on

These childlike eyes, See love and hate, Nothing more, Than seeing too late, These childlike eyes, See hunger and pain, It’s too bad, There’s nothing to gain, These childlike eyes, See violence and crime, Unfortunately, It happens all the time, These childlike eyes, See all the homeless, It seems like, One great big mess, These childlike eyes, See all the starvation, It’s amazing, People take vacations, These childlike eyes, See frustration and stress, I wonder, If it’s all a test

My child-like eyes have advantages They see the hidden things Things no one else are allowed to see They catch little quirks Funny and small Not caught by others But mine eyes see other things They see into your broken soul See the hurt, the pain The destroyed faith So let these child-like eyes Help heal your pain and suffering Look into mine eyes Let them restore your faith in love.

Did my child-like eyes Catch you by surprise When I was looking at you Could you tell what I wanted to do I wanted to have fun with you Be on the run with you Just to hold you, be bold with you But I couldn't Because my child-like heart wouldn't let me My child-like heart is frozen Because no words are spoken For you to know how I feel about you So when you look inside of my child-like eyes Look deep inside of me Then you will see What's deep inside my child-like heart

My child-like eyes, have gone dull with fear. For every time his hand was raised, I knew that pain was near. My child-like eyes, so innocent, so old were warm and soft before but now are hard and cold. My child-like eyes have seen rape they've seen bondage, my mouth sealed with tape. My child-like eyes are now growing dim. death is coming for me because I already killed him
