"Do you believe in evil? That some people are just born that way?"
A twisted family therapist with a murderous past uses a troubled child as a tool to manipulate a young couple to the edge of self-destruction, in "Mind Games," a psychological thriller making its premiere on the ABC Television Network's "The ABC Sunday NIght Movie," APRIL 19 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET).
Jayne Brook ("Chicago Hope") and Kyle Secor ("Homicide") are the couple who place their marriage -- and perhaps their lives -- at the mercy of the psychotherapist played by Lindsay Frost ("High Incident"), a therapist who thinks the serpent in the Garden was a hero.
Hannah and Doug Berrick (Brook and Secor) are a two-career family with a few problems, the most dramatic of which is a son's erratic behavior. Unfortunately, they will soon learn that Karen Sorenson (Frost), their new family therapist, is not so interested in helping the boy as she is in peeling away the family's protective covering; brutally exposing carefully kept secrets; seducing Doug and, along the way, destroying Hannah.
ALSO IN THE CAST: William Greenblatt as Luke Berrick, Hayley Lochner as Amy Berrick, Mamie McPhail as Cora, Mark Wilson as Ben, Michael Tomlinson as Dr. Ryan, Janet Bailey as Wanda, Gordon Michael Woolvett as Karen's young victim, Peter MacNeill as Wexford, Stephanie Morgenstern as Anna.
Jan Egleson directed "Mind Games" for Saraband Productions.
