Break-up Games

~~*Chapter Four*~~
Nick rang the doorbell and we stood there on the stoop of AJ’s house.
“Ashley, I gotta tell you something before we go in. You see…”
“Hi, guys!” Nick was interrupted.
“Hey, Chelsea,” Nick greeted as we walked in the front door of AJ’s house.
“Who’s your friend, Nicky?” She asked, her voice peppy and spirited. She was one of those cheerleader-looking girls. She had shoulder length blond hair that bobbed when she talked, bright blue eyes, and one of those cute button noses. She made me want to gag, but I stuck my hand out to her.
“I’m Ashley Jennings.” I said casually, shaking her hand. She smiled at me.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you! Come on in you guys!” We moved out of the doorway and into the hall. Since she had answered the door to AJ’s house, I was guessing that she was his girlfriend. Nick and I followed Chelsea into the living room that housed four of the most gorgeous guys. I searched, then spotted Brian, intently playing a racing video game with AJ. I watched as Chelsea sat between them, eating chips from the plate she held in her hand.
Nick led me to the couch where we sat down. I was immediately intercepted by Chelsea.
“Come on, Ashley. I want you to meet the other girls.” She grabbed my hand and took me to the kitchen. We walked directly in front of Brian, but he still hadn’t realized that I was there. I sighed and kept following Chelsea.
“This is Andrea and Kristin.” She said, gesturing towards the girls that had been talking intently in the kitchen. They stopped and immediately welcomed me warmly.
“Hi! It’s nice to meet you!” Kristin shook my hand.
“We were just talking about how great AJ’s hair would look if he frosted his tips and spiked it again.” Andrea informed me. I nodded, liking the idea of how that sounded.
“Okay, ladies! You’re wanted in the living room!” Brian said, walking into the kitchen. My heart skipped a beat as I watched him make a beeline for the food and start dipping into the chili con queso. The other girls shrugged and walked back to the living room. I stayed behind.
“Mmm, this stuff is so good! Don’t you think?” Brian finally looked at me. The look on his face when he recognized me was priceless. He almost choked on his chips and dip. “Ashley.” He whispered my name, reaching out and grabbing my hand.
“Brian, I didn’t know you were coming to Florida.” I said nervously as I moved closer to him. “I live here. I forgot to tell you that.” I read the look in his eyes and waited to feel his lips on mine.
“Come on, guys!” Chelsea came back into the kitchen, startling both of us. “Oh! Ashley! So you’ve met my boyfriend!”
