Thoughtless Words
Story by Courtney C. and Jessica B.
~~*Chapter Three- Part Two*~~
The bright morning light came pouring
through the hotel suite. Nick’s eyes fluttered open and he turned
towards Courtney. She was still sleeping peacefully. She’s so beautiful, he
thought. Gently he moved his hand
to her face, and caressed her eyelids, then her nose, and then her lips. Time
seemed to stand still.
“I could lay like this with you
forever,” He whispered in her ear.

Suddenly my eyes slightly opened. As
everything came into focus, I sighed.
“How long have you been up?” I
asked.
“Since 8:45,” He said, glancing at
the clock. It now read 10:02.
“You’ve been watching me sleep for
that long?”
“Yea...” He whispered, bending down
to kiss me tenderly. My stomach seemed to fill with butterflies as he
put his arms around me and kissed me even more deeply. Finally he pulled away
and sat up.
“So, what do you wanna do today?”
He asked.
“I don’t know, what do you wanna
do?” I asked sitting up.
“I say we go downtown and get you a
formal dress for tonight,” He stood up and pulled on boxers and a pair
of jeans.
“Tonight?” I was confused.
“Yes. I got us reservations at La’
Pierre’s,” He replied nonchalantly. La’ Pierre’s was the fanciest,
most well-know restaurant in New York.
“I figured we’d catch a show on Broadway afterwards.” He said
with a straight face. He knew I’d been dying to go to a Broadway show! Now a
smile played on his lips.
“Don’t try all that high and mighty
I’m-not-excited bull shit on me,” I said jumping up, wrapping myself in
a robe and walking over to him.
“Okay,” He said, letting out a huge
grin. “I’m physced.”
“Me too!!” I replied giggling with
excitement. “What show are we going to see?”
“Little Orphan Annie.”
“Ahhh!” I squealed. Annie was my
all-time favorite.
We walked hand in hand down 34th
street. There was two security guards with us, blending in perfectly.
As usual, Nick had his hat and sunglasses on for a disguise. Nick had just
bought me the most beautiful dress
I had ever seen. It was like the red dress Julia Roberts had worn in Pretty
Woman, except it’s sleeves were
spaghetti straps with diamond hearts connecting the straps to the front of the
dress. Suddenly Nick turned to me and
wrapped his arms around me. He leaned down and kissed me.
“Nick, people are everywhere.
What’s going on?” I asked, thoroughly confused.
“You looked so beautiful with the
wind in your hair and the sun on your face. I had to touch you to make sure
you’re real.,” He told me, pulling me closer to his chest.
“I’m very real...very real...” I
whispered against his lips. He was kissing me frantically. I quickly pulled
away. “Nick, people are starting to
stare!! You’ll be on the cover of a tabloid tomorrow!!”
“I don’t care!! As long as I’m
with you nothing else matters,” His voice was rising. “ I love you!” He
yelled, “ and I want to shout it to the
rooftops that you’re mine and if people are staring, it’s only because
they’re jealous that they don’t have you.”
“I love you, you silly boy.” I
murmured as we kissed once more before hopping into the waiting limo and speeding
back to the hotel.
I was ready by five and the reservations were for 5:30. Dinner was wonderful, and I will never forget “The sun’ll come out tomorrow!” But the best part of the evening was laying in bed wrapped in Nick’s arms, knowing that he loved me and I loved him.
