MY NAMING CEREMONY

As per customs the naming ceremony is arranged by maternal grandparents at their place for the first child within a month or two of the birth. But my case was different as I was born in Abu Dhabi away from my grandparents and as dadda could not go on vacation before jan, 2002 we had to postpone the function till I was already 7 months old. As such for my birth certificate, passport and visa my parents had to name me... and as per dadda's suggestion they name me "ANKUR". Ankur means a sprout... a new life. It is derived from the word PREMANKUR... which means sprout of love... yup guys i am the sprout of my parents love.

To celebrate my birth with all our near and dear ones my parents and grandparents arranged a function for my naming ceremony on 31st January, 2002 (I completed 7 months on the same date). As my parents strongly believe that they got me only by the blessings of LORD SUBRAMANYA (KUMAR KARTIKEYA) they already had in mind to name me after him. Before the function my parents took me to the holy temple of Shree Kukke Subramanya in Mangalore. So I was given name as KARTIKEYA at that function. It was a great function but I didnt enjoyed much as it was the first time I was facing such a big crowd and as everybody wanted to take me in their arms I was bit irritated and feeling sleepy too.
