Programme Co-ordinator (PC) Marchwar Swabalamban (Self- reliance Development) programme, run by RSDC* with the financial support of the United Nations Capital Development Fund
(UNCDF).
Responsibilities:
Act as the in charge of the programme. Designing the framework and the modality of operation of the programme. The entire management- planning, staffing, budgeting, reporting, controlling, etc. Conducting action research on poverty alleviating issues, and preparing working modalities for social development programme (e.g. group formation, revolving fund and micro saving and credit  mobilisation, micro infrastructure building and institutional development of self-help groups). Establishing linkage and complementarity with different stakeholders for the benefit of the    participating households and working in  tandem with local  authorities. Periodical assessment and reporting.

SEMINAR PARTICIPATION AND PRESENTATION
2001      Swabalamban (self-reliance) development: the fifteen years experience as the alternative empowerment approach in Nepal. This open seminar was organised in G�teborg Sweden and hosted by G�teborg NGO Network (Goteborg Frivilig Centre).

2000     The issue of sustainability of successfully implemented community organisation based social  mobilisation programme: An experience from Marchwar Self-reliant programme. (Nepali) (presented in an annual seminar of field workers, RSDC, Kathmandu).

2000      Facilitator (secretary) of the Seminar on in NGO and Citizen Safety, European Citizen Assembly,(EU-Level Conference)  Goteborg Sweden.

1995      Presented working paper entitled "Decentralisation concept, implementation and institutional  relationship for a VDC towards local self-governance" ? in a seminar organised by Deurali VDC,  Palpa (Nepali).

� Logical framework designing; participatory rural appraisal (PRA) and rapid information collection (RIC).

� Training of trainers on participatory training techniques; small project design and management, village development through social mobilisation; community group management and leadership; community action plan  (CAP) formulation; users' groups and decentralisation; skill enhancement on planning, accounting and local self-governance; role of the local government's authorities elementary journalism and mass communication; participatory planning, reflection and appraisal (PPRA); etc.

� Attended, participated and moderated a number of local and national level workshops and seminars. Presented papers on Self-reliance development practice (field based research results) in many seminar and workshops. Designed a number of training packages for staff and community members and developed a trainers core inside the organisation (RSDC) in course of regular job. This included mainly saving and credit groups, Swabalamban co-operative, Swabalamban way of social mobilisation, pre-job-placement orientation package to staff, etc.
