PREFACE

In recent Years considerable progress has been made in the area of face recogntion. Through the development of techniques like Eigenfaces and Neural Networks computers can now outperform humans in many face recognition tasks, particularly those in which large databases have to be searched.

MY WORK>

I have been successful in developing a face recognition system using Eigenfaces algorithm. I have tested and evaluated various face recognition methods. I have found that neural networks provide an easy way to perform face recognition but suffer from high miss rate. I found EIGENFACES to be an excellent basis for face recogntion systems, providing high recognition accuracy and moderate insensitivity to lighting variations.
