At the hospital, Bakura was sleeping when Marik entered his mind. Marik thanked Yami Bakura for letting him become friends with Joey and Tea, but warned Yami Bakura that he would have to enter the finals to get the Millenium Rod since Yugi and Seto both had already qualified for the finals. Marik told Bakura to work fast since there were only two spots left. Yami Bakura became frustrated since Marik was telling him what to do. He sensed Solomon trying to wake up the real Bakura, so Yami Bakura took over the body. He asked Solomon where the finals were, but Solomon realised that he didn't know. Realising that he would have to do some work, Yami Bakura got up. Solomon told him that he needed to rest, but Yami Bakura used the power of his Millenium Ring to put Solomon to sleep.
Yami Bakura found s duellist on the street and stole his Duel Disk and his locator card. He was disgusted by the duellist's weak deck, so he threw it back at him. Yami Bakura realised that he needed 5 more locator cards, so he asked a group of people if there were any duellists nearby. Yami Bakura had to threten them, so the group told him that there was a group of duellists hanging around in the graveyard. Another duellist arrived at the graveyard to find no one there. Siddenly, a trio of zombies came out of the ground. The duellist dropped his duel disk and his locator card and ran for it. The trio of zombies then removed to mask the reveal no one other than Bones, Sid, and Zygore. The trio celebrated the win of their fifth locator card. They told each other that they deserved to enter the finals this time after Bandit Keith stole their locator cards. They heard someone coming, so they put their masks back on. Bakura arrived, but as the trio came close to him, Bakura unmasked all of them. Yami Bakura then challenged them to a duel. Zygore realised that Bakura was familiar. As Bones and Bakura prepared to duel, Bakura suggested that they wager all their locator cards on the duel. Bones was unsure since he had five and Bakura only had one, but then he agreed because he thought that Bakura must be a weak duellist if he only had one locator card. Bones accepted and then the arena became shrouded in purple fog.
Yami Bakura started the duel by summoning the Headless Knight(1450/1700) in attack mode. Bakura then set one card. Bones summoned Snakehair, the Sorceress(1500/1200) and destroyed the Headless Knight(Yami Bakura's LP:3950). Bakura then activated his face down card, the Shallow Grave, reviving his Headless Knight. Bakura then sacraficed it to summon the Earl of Demise(2000/1200). The Earl of Demise destroyed Snakehair(Bones's LP:3500). Bones was still confident. He summoned Dragon Zombie and then played Premature Burial(Bones's LP:2800) to revive his Sorceress. Bones then activated Polymerization to fuse the two monsters to create the Mammoth of Goldfine(2200/1800). Bones then set one card. As Yami Bakura drew hi next card, Bones activated Skull Invitation. Bakura sacraficed five cards from his hand(Yami Bakura's LP:2750). Yami Bakura then activated Spiritualistic Medium, increasing his Earl's attack to 4000. The Earl of Demise then destroyed Bones's mammoth(Bones's LP:600). Yami Bakura then told the trio that they would soon be in the shadow realm forever. Sid was not happy, so he started running away, but he appeared right back in the same place. Yami Bakura explained that the only way to escape was to win. Bones then played Nightmare Steelcage. Yami Bakura then played Ectoplasmer, taking the soul of his earl and firing it at Bones's life points. Bones's life points reached zero. The trio were then sucked into the ground. Yami Bakura claimed their five locator cards. He was now ready to enter the finals and help Marik.
