| As Marik awaited Yugi's arrival at the dock, Odion aproached his master. Odion presented Marik with six locator cards. Odion then showed Marik six other locator cards. Each of them would qualify for the finals if Marik's upcoming plan failed. Marik was pleased that Odion won the cards easily. Odion then gave Marik the rare cards to upgrade Joey's deck. Marik had wanted new cards for Joey when he duelled Yugi. Marik was especially eager now. As the KaibaCorp helicoptor approached the docks, Seto was sure that Joey would be under Marik's control. Yugi did not care, for he planned to save Joey no matter what it took. Mokuba then spotted Joey on the dock. Mokuba called for the shopper to land. As Yugi approached his frind, Marik was inside Joey's mind. The Marik controlled Joey warned Yugi that he would kill him if it came to it. Yugi tried to break Marik's control over Joey, but Joey was mean to Yugi. Joey explained that they would duel and there would be only one survivor. Seto was intrigued at what Joey was saying, while Yugi was trying to convince Joey to break away from Marik's powers. As the two approached a small platform, Tea walked towards Yugi from a nearby ship. Tea told Yugi that Joey's mind had been filled with hatred towards Yugi. As they arrived at a platform, both Joey and Yugi walked over to each side. Tea tied a chain to one of Yugi's legs and one of Joey's. Tea explained that after a duellist loss, the anchor tied to their chain would began a 30 second countdown. Once it reached zero, it would fall. The 30 second time period would allow the winner to free themselves, while the loser would fall in the ocean forever. Yugi refused to duel his friend under such conditions, but then Tea walked over to a chair and secured herself to it. She explained that a time limit would be given for the duel, so if neither of them had won in time they would both fall into the sea. Seto made a move towards Tea, but then a rare hunter appeared in a crane. If Seto took another step, the rare hunter would release the metal box over Tea's head, killing her. With everything explained, Marik released Tea from his control. Tea was frightened and confused. She did not understand what was going on at all. Yugi told Marik to free Tea, but Marik ignored him. Marik explained that Yugi couldn't use Slifer because if he had it in his deck and he lost, it would be ruined forever. As Yugi put Slifer aside, he spotted Joey's Red-Eyes. He decided to put it in his deck because it could help him to save Joey. As Yugi prepared to begin the hardest duel in his life, Tristin and Serenity had arrived in Domino Town. Tristin realised that he had no clue where the finals were. As he called Tea, he wasn't able to reach her. As he tried to figure out where to go next, a group of rare hunters started following him. Back at the harbor, Yugi was determined to save Joey and defeat Marik. Yugi started the duel by summoning Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beast in defence mode. Joey played raigeki, destroying Gazelle. He then summoned Alligaotr Sword and attacked Yugi's life points directly(Yugi's LP:2500). Yugi then summoned Big Shield Gardna in defence mode. Joey played Hinotama(Yugi's LP:2000). Seto pointed out that direct damage cards were not allowed in Battle City, but Marik completely ignored him. At this time, Odion approached Marik at a nearby shipyard and informed him that Tristin and Serenity had been spotted in Domino. Marik was pleased by this info and told Odion to go and capture them. As Yugi drew a card, things had become bad for Tristin and Serenity. As Tristin apoligised to Serenity for not knowing where Joey was, a group of rare hunters surrounded them. Tristin got Serenity to climb on his back. Tristin then ran for it. Still confused at what was going on, Tea called out to Mokuba and asked him what was going on. Mokuba explained that Joey had been brainwashed. tea realised that this must have been what Ishizu was talking about. The rare hunter in the crane warned tea to keep her mouth shut. Tea told Seto to stop the duel, but Seto knew that he couldn't. Joey told Yugi to stop stalling. Yugi summoned Kuriboh in attack mode and then set a card. Marik was confused that Yugi had summoned suck a pitiful monster, but he realised that Yugi must be trying to lose on purpose. Alligator Sword attacked, but Yugi activated Spellbinding Circle, trapping Joey's monster. Joey then played Hinotama once again(Yugi's LP:1500). Marik was pleased that his plan was going according to plan. Can Yugi save his two friends before he is pulled down to the bottom of the sea? |
