Legendary Fisherman(2)
Although worried about Mako's Umi field card, Joey knew that a more powerful monster would quickly destroy Mako. Joey summoned Baby Dragon and then activated Polymerization. Alligator Sword and Baby Dragon fused to create Alligator Sword Dragon. Since newly fused monster were not allowed to attack, Joey ended his turn. Mako then summoned a monster. Joey looked to see what monster Mako had summoned, but the sea hid it. Joey wasn't worried, since his Alligator Sword Dragon could attack Mako's life points directly even though Mako had a monster. Alligator Sword Dragon attack directly(Mako's LP:1600). Mako set a card and ended his turn. Joey was sure that this duel was over, but as his monster attacked, Mako activated Tornado Wall, blocking Alligatorm Sword Dragon's attack.
Joey wondered where Mako's monster was, but he didn't have to wait any longer. Mako sacraficed his monster and summoned the Legendary Fisherman. Joey activated Energy Drain, but Mako informed Joey that his monster couldn't be effected by magic cards as long as Umi was in play. The Legendary Fisherman then destroyed Alligator Sword Dragon(Joey's LP:3050). Joey was shocked, so he set a monster and ended his turn. The Legendary Fisherman attack again and destroyed Joey's face down monster, Tiny Guardian. Joey realised that Mako's fisherman looked a lot like him. Mako explained that the card reminded him of his father. Mako told Joey that after his father had been washed away in the sea, Mako had built a shrine of a cliff in honor of his father. One day, he had received a letter from his father. Inside the letter was The Legendary Fisherman. Whenevern Mako used this card, it reminded him of his father and his had never lost a battle since.
Joey was touched by the story, but he was still determined to crush Mako. Joey set a card and then set a monster. Mako was determined to make Joey lose faith, so he played Fortress Whale Oath. Mako sacraficed Jellyfish and Great White to summon the might Fortress Whale(2350/2150). Mako's Fortress Whale then gained 200 extra attack from the Umi field. Although Joey was up against two powerful monsters, he wasn't willing to give up just yet. As Joey looked around his saw the shadow of Mako's fisherman in the water.
Mako destroyed Joey's face down monster with his fisherman and then attacked Joey's life points directly with Fortress Whale(Joey's LP:500). Joey then summoned Panther Warrior and set two cards. Joey then ended his turn. Mako attacked Panther Warrior with Fortress Whale, but Joey activated Magic Arm Shield, using Mako's fisherman as a shield. Mako's Legendary Fisherman was destroyed(Mako's LP:900). Mako was disheartened that his favorite monster had been destroyed, but Joey told him to suck it up and that his father would not want Mako crying over one card. Now motivated, Mako attacked Panther Warrior again with Fortress Whale, but Joey activated Kunai With Chain. Fortress Whale was trapped. Joey then ordered Panther Warrior to attack. Mako was confused, but then Joey activated Legendary Sword, boosting his monster's attack(Mako's LP:150).
With Mako out of monsters, it looked over for him. Mako was not finished yet though and activated Return of the Doomed, reborning one of his monsters and hiding it in the sea. Joey then activated Giant Trunade. Umi was sent back to Mako's hand and Mako's Legendary Fisherman was revealed. Joey then activated Scapegoat and sacraficed one of them so Panther Warrior could attack. Mako's Legendary Fisherman was destroyed(Mako's LP:0). Mako congratulated Joey one winning. Mako then gave Joey two locator cards and his Legendary Fisherman and Fortress Whale. Joey told Mako to keep his fisherman, but Mako insisted so Joey took it. As the two set of in different directions, they promised to meet again. Meanwhile, Seto had picked up Joey's signal and he and Yugi were headed towards it. Will Yugi be able to get there before Marik's rare hunters strike?
