As the double duel began, Seto played Pot of Greed, allowing him to draw two cards. Seto then summoned Lord of Dragons. Seto then played not one, but two Flute of Summoning Dragons. Seto used the flutes to summon all three of his Blue-Eyes White Dragon(3000/2500) and Hyozanryu(2100/2800). With some of the most powerful monsters in the game already on the field, things looked good for Yugi. The first of the Gurus Duo set a monster and ended his turn. Yugi was suspicious, so he set two cards. Seto was furious that Yugi was barely able to do anything. Yugi ended his turn by summoning Kuriboh in defence mode. The second of the Gurus Duo drew and set Mirror Force, hoping to use it to wipe of Seto's dragons.
As Seto began his second turn, he wasn't worried at all about the face down cards the the Gurus Duo had set. Seto sacraficed all three of his Blue-Eyes and summoned Obelisk the Tormentor. Sacraficing his two remaining monsters, Seto powered up Obelisk and activated his special effect. Obelisk crushed the Gurus Duo's monsters and the Mirror Force. Obelisk then wiped out the rest of their life points. The Gurus Duo fell to their knees. Seto began to taunt Yugi about how powerful Obelisk was, but Yugi was still concerned about the gang. As Yugi prepared to leave, Seto threw Yugi one of the rare hunter's locator card. Seto then told Yugi that Mokuba woiuld tell KaibaCorp to find Joey's Duel Disk using the KaibaCorp Satellite. Seto then told Yugi that after Yugi found his friends, he would have no excuse to start their rematch.
Menawhile, at the Domino Aquarium, Mako Tsunami was fishing in one of the tanks, not realising that the tank was used for one of the museum's shows. The host arrived and demanded that Mako stop what he was doing. The host then collapsed from exhaustion, so Mako decided to do the show for her. Elsewhere in Domino Town, Yami Bakura had sensed Marik apporaching. As Joey and the rest of the gang arrived, Yami Bakura was forced to let Bakura control the body so that Yugi's friends wouldn't suspect anything. Joey told Bakura that he only needed two more locator cards to enter the finals. Bakura asked where Yugi was, but the gang had to admit that they didn't know. Joey then saw a poster for Mako's preformance at the aquarium and decided to challenge his to a duel.
The gang reached the aquarium to find Mako already preforming. Little did they know that a group of rare hunters were close behind them. The gang was impressed at what Mako was doing, but Joey walked over to Mako and challenged him to a duel. Joey showed Mako that he already had four locator cards. Mako showed Joey his four locator cards. Mako then accepted Joey's challenge. Both of them decided to wager two locator cards and two of their rarest cards. As the duel began, Joey was shocked to find Weevil's Parasite Paracide in his deck. Joey decided to use it against Mako, but then Mako told Joey to hurry up and make his move. Without totally understanding Parasite Paracide's effect, Joey set it.
Mako summoned Flying Fish(800/500) Flying Fish attacked Parasite Paracide, destrying it. Joey didn't understand why Mako's monsters hadn't been contaminated. Joey was annoyed, soo he set another monster and ended his turn. Mako set a trap card and ended his turn. Joey sacraficed his face down monster to summon Garoozis, but Mako activated Torrential Tribute, destroying Joey's monster. Marik was pleased that his rare hunters were watching Joey because he planned to take control of Joey after the duel finished. As he continued to race into town on his motorbike, he was suddenly stopped by Yami Bakura. Marik saw Yami Bakura's Millenium Ring. Yami Bakura demanded Marik's Millenium Rod. Marik was suprised that Bakura was after all the Millenium Items even though he was not a guardian of the pharoh's tomb. Marik then introduced himself and told Bakura that his goal was to defeat Yugi and that he didn't care about the Millenium Items. He offered Bakura a deal that he would hand over his rod and the location of the Millenium Ring if Bakura beat Yugi. Yami Bakura agreed. The two evil forces would be extremely powerful together.
Back at the aquarium, Mako attacked Joey directly with Flying Fish(Joey's LP:3200). Mako then set a card face down before he ended his turn. Mako warned Joey that if he didn't duel better, he would lose. Joey summoned Alligator Sword in defence mode. Joey then set two cards. Mako sacraficed Flying Fish to summon Amphibian Beast(2400/2000). Amphibian Beast attacked Alligator Sword, but Joey activated Fairy Box. Mako then activated Umi, forcing Alligator Sword to come up for air. As Amphibian Beast attacked, Joey activated Skull Dice, rolling a 4. Amphibian Beast was then destroyed(Mako's LP:3300). Even though Joey was now confident, Mako was also confident that Joey wouldn't be able to defeat his creatures of the deep.
