As Strings's turn began, the third Slime Token appeared. As the three Slime tokens were sacraficed, the clouds gathered over the duel and thunder hit the ground. A giant beam of light shot upwards towards the clouds and then Slifer the Sky Dragon appeared. Yugi was shocked at the size and power of the God card. Marik explained that Slifer's stats depended on the amount to cards in his hand, so since he had 2, Slifer's attack and defence were both 2000. Strings then played Pot of Greed, drawing two card(Slifer's ATK/DEF:3000/3000). Although Slifer was stronger that every card in Yugi's deck, Yugi wasn't willing to give up just yet, determined to find a weakness. Yugi realised that Strings was only allowed to hold 6 cards in his hand, making Slifer's maximum attack and defence 6000. Little did Yugi realised that Marik had his own plans.
Buster Blader's attack was raised by 500 since Slifer was a dragon, so Buster Blader had an attack of 3100, making it more powerful than Slifer. Since Yugi was still trapped in the Nightmare Stell Cage, all he could do was set two cards and summon Kuriboh and defence mode. Strings then drew(Slifer's ATK/DEF:4000/4000).
As Slifer prepared to attack, Yugi activated Lightforce Sword, removing one of the cards in Strings's hand(Slifer's ATK/DEF:3000/3000). As Buster Blader was about to destroy Slifer, Revival Jam got in the way, destrying itself. As Revival Jam regenerated, Marik explained that Revival Jam could block counter attacks too. Strings then activated Card of Safe return, which allowed him to draw three cards every time a monster was rebroned(Slifer's ATK/DEF:5000/5000).
Back in Domino Town, Joey and the rest of the gang were exhausted after searching for a duellist. Tristin wouldn't see why Joey wouldn't duel any of the amateur duellists. Joey explained that he had a reputation to uphold and that he could just duel anybody. Solomon was impressed by Joey, but he still told Joey that he would have to find someone to duel to get the last two locator cards. As the gang began to leave, Seto arrived and asked Joey why he had a Duel Disk when he was a pitiful duellist. Joey was furious at Seto's remarks and challenged him to a duel. The gang tried to stop Joey, but Seto was amused and was about to accept. As Seto was about to accept, he received a radio message that an Egyptian God card had just been played. Seto got into his chopper. he was furious to discover that Yugi was in the duel against the rare hunter with the God card, not wanting Yugi to be defeated by anybody other tham him.
At this time, Buster Blader was destroyed by Slifer(Yugi's LP:2100). It looked like Seto wish wouldn't come true. However, Yugi put his faith into the heart of the cards and drew Magical Cylinders, which could be a way to defeat Slifer. Yugi sacraficed Kuriboh to summon the Dark Magician Girl in defence mode. At this time, Slifer's second mouth opened and attacked the Dark Magician Girl with an attack of 2000. Marik explained that Slifer's second motuh would attack a monster when it was summoned. Since the female magician only hda 1700 defence, it would be wiped out. Luckily, Yugi activated Magical Hats, protecting his Dark Magician Girl since Marik picked thw wrong hat.
Still determined to win, Yugi set two other cards under the hats and ended his turn. As Strings's turn began, he drew another card((Slifer's ATK/DEF:6000/6000). Strings then played Infinite Cards, which allowed him to hold as many cards in his hand as he wanted.Strings then ordered Slifer to attack one of the hats. Yugi was shocked, since it was the right hat. As the blast destroyed the hat, Yugi explained that not only was his Dark Magician Girl in this hat, but his two trap cards as well; Magical Cylinders and Spellbinding Circle. Slifer was paralysed((Slifer's ATK/DEF:4300/4300). Magical Cylinders then reflected the first attack of 6000. As it was about to destroy the God card, Revival Jam interfered and was destroyed instead. Revival Jam then regenerated. Stings then drew 3 more cards. As Strings's turn began again, Slifer's attack rose to 9000. Slifer then destroyed Dark Magician Girl. Yugi then fell to his knees, exhausted and unable to see any chance of winning. As he prepared to give up, Seto called out to him and told him not to give up. Even with the support of his rival, can Yugi turn the duel around and defeat Slifer the Sky Dragon.
