Yugi congratulated Arkana on playing this well so far, but then Yugi asked Arkana why he became a rare hunter. Arkana removed his mask, showing Yugi a scarred face. Arkana explained that he had once been a talented magician, but he had been in a terrible accident which scarred his face. He hadn't been able to face his love, Cadeline, so he left her. Marik had promised to reunite them if he beat Yami Yugi. Yugi tried to convince Arkana that he didn't need marik's help to win back his loved one, but Arkana ignored Yugi, explaining that Cadeline was behind the curtains.
As the two duellists continued to talk, Tea and Solomon were still trying to locate Yugi, and so was Mokuba and Seto. Using KaibaCorp technolofy, Seto was able to locate Yugi, so Mokuba headed off to find him. Back at the duel, Arkana played a card face down. Yugi set two cards face down. Arkana then activated Hand Waving Darkness, but Yugi counted with Fairy's Hand Mirror. Arkana explained that Hand Waving Darkness was just a diversion. Arkana then activated Demon Cross. Demon Cross trapped Yugi's Dark Magician and took it out of play.
Arkana's Dark Magician then attacked Yugi's life points directly(Yugi's LP:1500). Yugi summoned Big Shield Gardner in defence mode. Arkana summoned Baby Killer and then activated Ectoplasma. Ectoplasma allowed Arkana to sacrafice a monster and do half of its attack damage to Yugi's life points.
Arkana then sacraficed Baby Killer(Yugi's LP:700). Arkana then prepared to sacrafice his Dark Magician and end the duel. Yugi wanred Arkana that he was hurting the cards by sacraficing them just to do damage. Arkana ignored Yugi and sacraficed his magician, but as the magician was about to hit Yugi, Yugi's Dark Magician's soul escaped and blocked the attack. Arkana was shocked as both Dark Magicians were sent to the graveyard. Yugi explained that when you sacrafice a monster for Ectoplasma, all monsters with the same name are also sacraficed. Arkana was shocked, but still determined to win.
