At Marik's headquarters, Marik was informed that the third Egyptian God card had just been used by Seto Kaiba. Marik realised that his sister must have given it to Seto. Marik remembered when he was confronted by his sister when he tried to take on the the God cards. Marik was determined to collect all three cards and free his family from the curse. Marik then told his men to focus on Yami Yugi first and leave Seto alone.
At the hospital, Tristin was leaving Serenity to find Yugi and Joey. Before he left, he promised to take her to Battle City before she got he bandages removed. Elsewhere, Joey was searching for a new opponent, while Tea and Solomon were searching for Yugi. Yugi and Yami were talking, when a clown appeared. Yugi followed the clown into a tent. Tea and Solomon saw Yugi and followed him. Yugi entered a box in the tent and disappeared. Tea and Solomon were shocked to see him just vanish. While Tea and Solom wondered where Yugi could have gone, Mokuba had just informed that Yugi's Duel Disk's signal had vanished, so he and Seto went to headquarters to find out what was wrong.
Meanwhile, Yugi had been transported to a shop, where he found a computer with his duellist information. Yugi looked at the screen and suddenly a Dark Magician wearing red robes appeared. Arkana then appeared and introduced himself as the true master of the Dark Magician. Arkana then challenged Yugi to a duel. Yugi warned Arkana that the cards choose their own masters. Arkana then led Yugi downstairs to a special arena, where they would duel. Arkana explained that Marik knew that Yugi would come. The two duellists then shuffled each other's deck. The floor then slid back and both duellists legs and locked by a pair of manacles. Yugi was startled by the change of events, but then two saws appeared, making the situation even worse. Arkana explained that when a player's life points reached zero, the saw would send their mind to the shadow realm for eternity. The winner's box would open, revealing a key to unlock their manacle and a locator card.
As the duel began, Arkana was not suprised that he had a Dark Magician in his hand, since he had altered his deck so he would always draw a Dark Magician on the first turn. Yugi started the duel by summoning Alpha and Magnet Warrior. Yugi then ended his turn by setting a card. Arkana summoned Rijon the Dark Clown in defence mode. Yugi realised that Arkana was very confident, so he played Card Destruction, so both of the would start with new hands. Arkana was shocked, since he no longer had a Dark Magician. Yugi then activated his face down card, Brain Control to take over Rijon. Yugi then sacraficed Rijon and Alpha to summoned the Dark Magician. The Dark Magician attacked Arkana's life points directly(Arkana's LP:1500). Even though Arkana was already losing badly, he was still very confident.
