The Past is the Prologue
As a plane arrived at Domino Airport, Ishizu Ishtar got off the plane where she was met by the city officials, who thanked her for letting their city have the ancient Egyptian exhibit. The city official told her that her artifacts would be safe since thiefs had been after them. Ishizu told him that the armored garbage trucks were good enough. The city official was suprised, but then Ishizu explained that she had a sixth sense.
Meanwhile, Yugi was in deep thoguht as he headed home. He was remembering what had happened in the warehouse and how he had saved Yami. Tea saw him from across the street and called out to him, but Yugi didn't hear her and kept on walking.
Over at KaibaCorp, Mokuba was watching tv. On tv, the news was talking about the new ancient Egyptian exhibit. Mokuba asked Seto if they could go. Seto told him that he was an important business man and that he didn't have time for such nonsense. Seto then got a phone call from Ishizu. Ishizu told him to watch the news more carefully. Seto looked over at the tv and saw Ishizu. Ishizu said that she was inviting Seto kaiba personally to tonight's special tour and that what he saw would change his life forever.
As Seto entered the museum, Seto was greeted by Ishizu. A team of security guards then came and locked all the doors, ensuring that nobody would enter or leave. Ishizu told him that she was taking a precaution. Seto reminded Ishizu that she had told him about a card more powerful than Exodia on the phone. Ishizu told Seto that he would get what he wanted in time. Ishizu began to talk about how Pegasus had created Duel Monsters after an Egpytian game, but Seto told Ishizu to get to the point. Ishizu then took Seto into a private room in the basement.
At the game shop, Yugi was unsure of what to do after the incident at the ware house. Yami thanked yugi for saving him and told him not to worry. As the two continued to talk, Tea was having a bad dream about Yami and Ancient Egypt. She saw Yami walking into a building without her. Tea then suddenly woke up, worried.
Back at the museum, Ishizu showed Seto a group of carvings. Seto looked at one closely and saw that all the depictings were pictures of Duel Monsters. Ishizu explained that Pegasus created Duel Monsters from the Egyptian Shadow Game. She told him that the Shadow Games were sealed away by the pharoh and his six priests into stone tablets and the six Millenium Items, but then evil sorcerors learned how to control the tablets, releasing the dark magic. Ishizu then took Seto to the second tablet, showing him the picture of the pharoh with his Dark Magician. Seto was shocked that the pharoh resembled Yugi. Ishizu then pointed out that the man duelling the pharoh was Seto himself. Seto was shocked even more, especially after seeing the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Ishizu explained that long ago, he and Yami duelled and that their duel was an eternal one. Their spirits had come back to life, to continue their battle. Seto didn't beleive a word Ishizu said, so Ishizu used her Millenium Necklace to show Seto the past.
Back in Ancient Egypt, Priest Kaiba was duelling another priest. The pharoh was watching the duel, but his face was hidden in the shadows. Kaiba summoned a monster, but his opponent summoned a monster more powerful than his, destroying Seto's monsters and some of his followers.
At home, Yugi asked Yami who he really was. Yami told him that he didn't know much about who he really was. At the museum, Ishizu told Seto that there was no proof to tell about the pharoh and that his origin remained a mystery. Ishizu decided to show Seto the past again.
Priest Kaiba summoned La Jinn, but the other priest fused Winged Dragon with Fairy Dragon, creating Kaiser Dragon. Kaiser Dragon then destroyed La Jinn. The reall Seto asked Ishizu to stop the vision, but Ishizu ignored him. Priest Kaiba then sacraficed the Mystic Horseman and Battle Ox and summoned the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Blue-Eyes then destroyed all of the other priest's monsters and followers.
Ishizu tried to explain to Seto that it was his destiny to duel Yugi again. Seto then insisted that he show her the rare card she had. Ishizu then pointed to the top half of the tablet, which showed the three most powerful monsters in all of Duel Monsters, the three god cards. Ishizu explained that in ancient times, Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and the Winged Dragon of Ra destroyed much of the land, but were locked away by the pharoh. Pegasus had recreated these cards, but he feared them, so he sent them to Ishizu. Ishizu hid the cards, but a group called the rare hunters stole them. Seto asked what rare hunters were. Ishizu explained that rare hunters were black market card dealers who stole cards, selling some, but keeping the best for themselves. Ishizu then showed Seto, Obelisk the Tormentor. Seto was shocked, but Ishizu explained that she had saved this card in time.
Ishizu then told Seto that she was going to give the card to Seto. Seto would host a duel monsters tournament, which would attract the rare hunters. Seto would then get the other two cards back. Seto agrred, but then he asked Ishizu why she was going to trust him with the god card. Ishizu explained that she had forseen Seto giving it back.
Back at home, Yugi apoligised to Yami for wanting to know about his past. Yami said that he wanted to know about his past too. Meanwhile Seto was looking at the card which would allow him to get his title as the world's best duellist back soon.
