On their way to school, Yugi decided to check out Grandpa's competition. As they reached the massive store, a woman ahnded them a brochure that was promoting a new game, Dungeon Dice Monsters. As Yugi and Tea left, two figures were watching them from inside the shop. One of the two men told the other that he couldn't beleive that yugi had beaten Pegasus, but then reassured himself that Yugi was not as good as Duke Devlin. The other man, Duke himself, told his associate that he planned to cruch Yugi and take his title as King of Games.
Later that day at school, Joey was excited ti hear about the new game shop, especially when he heard that they had a new game. They then talked about Serenity and Joey told them that Serenity's eyesight was improving and that the doctors though she would soon make full recovery. As the gang continued to talk, they heard cheering from the room next door.
They decided to check it out. They found a guy preforming tricks with five die in a cup.Yugi asked one of his classmates who the guy was. The classmate told Yugi that the guy was Duke Devlin, the owner of the new game shop. Joey began to make fun of Duke when Duke came over and introduced himself. Duket told the gang that he was honored to be in the same room with the only duellist to have ever beaten Pegasus. Joey continued to make fun of Duke, but then Duke decided to challenge Joey to a small game. Duke took out the die and the cup. Duke then placed the die in the cup and shook the cup. Duke told Joey that he could move the dice from under the cup to his hand without touching it.Joey checked the cup and found no dice and Duke then showed Joey the dice in his hand.
Joey realised Duke had tricked him and challenged him to a duel. Duke accepted, but then told Joey that since he didn't have a deck of his own, they would both create new decks. Yugi tried to stop Joey, telling him that their decks would be made by the game of chance, but Joey was confident. Duke then decided that they should wager on the match. The winner would get to tell the loser what to do for a whole week. Joey agreed, knwoing that this was a good chance to close down Duke's shop.
As the gang arrived at Duke's game shop, they were taken to a lift that would take them to the duelling arena. On the way, Duke and Joey constructed their decks from brand new booster packs. As the lift reached its destination, Joey was amzed at the sight of the arena. Duke then told Joey that this was the smallest arena in the shop. Duke then announced that the duel would be broadcasted internationally, since he felt that the larger the audience made the duellist duel better.
Duke started the duel by summoning Oni Tank T-34 in attack mode. Joey summoned Sword Hunter and destroyed it(Duke's LP:950). Sword Hunter then gained an addition 200 attack points since it destroyed a monster. Duke summoned Dark Bat in defence mode and a card face down on the field. Joey summoned Mad Sword Beast and destroyed Dark Bat(Duke's LP:550)(Mad Sword Beast causes damage even if the monster is in defence mode). Duke was shocked, but then he activated Mitizouri, destroying Joey's Sword Hunter. Duke then set a card and summoned Spike Bomb. Spike Bomb then destroyed Joey's Mad Sword Beast(Joey's Lp:1650). Joey then summoned Goblin Attack Force and destroyed Duek's Spike Bomb(Duke's LP:50). Goblin Attack Force then switched to defence mode.
Even with only 50 life points left, Duke seemed pretty calm. Duke then summoned Gradius and activated his face doiwn card, Limiter Removal, doubling the attack of Gradius. Duke then activated Fairy Meteor Crush, giving Gradius the power of Mad Sword Beast. Gradius then destroyed Goblin Attack Force, winning the duel for Duke.
Duke then made Joey put on a dog costume. Duke then flicked dice at Joey whenever he talked. Unable to bare Duke humiliating Joey, the Millenium Puzzle activated, transforming Yugi to Yami Yugi. Yami yugi challenged Duke to a second duel so he could free his friend. Duke accepted, but under his terms. Duke insisted that they play his game, Dungeon Dice Monsters. Duke then told yugi that if Yugi lost, he would have to give up his title as King of Games and promise never to duel again. Joey told Yugi not to risk all this, but yugi ignored Joey and accepted Duke's terms. As the two prepared to play this new game, can Yugi win a game that he doesn't even know the rules too.
