Once the reached the edge of town, Mai summoned the Niwatori. They all got onto a Niwatori and started crossing the desert. As they crossed the desert a Sandstorm monster appeared. Joey summoned his Red-Eyes Black Dragon and destroyed it. They finally reached the end of the desert and they saw a temple. Mokuba immeadiatly rushed inside and the others followed him.
Instead of finding Seto, they found a maze. They started going through the maze, but they were suddenly surrounded by Labyrinth Tanks. Yugi activated Magical Hats. They were immeadiatly teleported into a different part of the maze. At this time Joey saw the same fairy they saw in the graveyard, so they followed it. It led them straight to a little girl. The little girl looked a lot like Mokuba. The little girl said that she had gotten lost in the maze and that her fairy guide, Aero, was trying to find the way out. All five of them ran after Aero, who led them out of the maze. They suddenly saw a Gate Guardian preventing them from leaving the place. Yugi summoned Summoned Skull and Joey summoned Red-Eyes Black Dragon. Yugi then used Polymerization and fused the two to create Black Skull Dragon. Joey then powered up Black Skull Dragon with Dragon Nails and destroyed Gate Guardian. At this time the little girl invited them back to her palace since they saved her.
Meanwhile Seto woke up chained to a rock. Out of the floor, the Witty Phanton appeared. Kaiba tried to override the game, but the Witty Phantom told him that the game had been reprogrammed. The Witty Phantom told Seto that he would be sacraficed in order to summon the Mythic Dragon. Meanwhile Yugi, Joey, Mokuba, and Mai were in a carriage, being taken the the girl's kingdom, Simlau. The girl's name was Princess Adina. Yugi and his friends were given a banquet since they saved Adina. During the banquet, Mokuba asked Adina whether she had seen Seto. She said that she hadn't, but he may be the offering the other kingdom had given. She explained to them that at this time of year, the two kingdoms each had to give one offering to the Mythic Dragon. Adina told them that a castle in the sky would come and take the offering. Yugi asked who the offering would be. Adina then told them that she was going to be the offering this year.
At this time Yugi and his friends each went to seperate rooms to wear their traditional Simlau battle gear. They then all went to the palace roof, where they saw a storm brewing. They then saw a castle in the sky, the Castle of Dark Illusions. Next the the Castle of Dark Illusions were hundreds of Duel Monsters. Mai summoned Dark Witch and began attacking, but Yugi told her to call back her monster. Yugi was about to use Dark Hole, but suddenly the knife of an Armed Ninja prevented him from using it. Joey summoned Axe Raider to protect Princess Adina, but a Whiptail Crow picked Adina up and took her away. At this time Mokuba began to cry. Mokuba told Yugi, Joey, and Mai that he was not Mokuba, but Princess Adina. Princess Adina said that Mokuba switched places with her so that Mokuba could be with his brother.
At this time Yugi saw the outline of a flying craft on the ground. Joey, Mai, and Yugi then went to check it out. Joey summoned Time Wizard and made the area go back in time, so that the craft was really there. Meanwhile, Tristin and Tea were struggling to keep th guards out. It could only be a matter of time before the guards broke in and disconnected Yugi, Joey, and Mokuba.
