Yami Bakura offered to give Pegasus another chance to get all the Millenium Items by wagering both of theirs on a shadow game. Yami Bakura then told Pegasus that his Millenium Eye may give him the power to read minds, but his gave him the power to read souls. Bakura took out his deck and layed some cards on the table. He flipped one of them over first. The card was Happy Lover and bakura explained that Pegasus used to be a lover. Bakura then flipped over another card, Mask of Darkness, and explained that Pegasus's current actions were part of a bigger scheme. Bakura then flipped over another card, Doma the Angel of Silence, and explained that this card would be Pegasus's future.
Yami Bakura warned Pegasus that he would silence him. The two Millenium Items began to glow. Since Pegasus had been weakened from his duel with Yugi, he lost quickly. With Pegasus defeated, Yami Bakura claimed that Millenium Eye. Pegasu yelled out in pain. Yugi and his friends heard the yell and ran even faster to the tower. As they reached the tower, they found Pegasus being carried by two of his guards. Croquet explained that Pegasus had been injured. The group ran to the top of the tower and found the picture of Pegasus's wife, Cecelia. The group wondered who the woman was, but Tea picked up Pegasus's journal and began to read out of it:
"When Pegasus and Cecelia first met, they were only children, but they quickly fell in love with each other and became inseperable. The joys of love inspired Pegasus to take up painting and soon the two prepared to be married. But no sooner had they been joined together than Cecelia was struck with illness and passed away. Ever since that day, Pegasus became bitter and unable to love, searching for a way to revive his true love."
"Pegasus's search led him to Egypt, where he met up with a mysterious man who seemed to know about his quest to revive his wife. Pegasus followed the man to an ancient Egyptian crypt where the man explained that Pegasus would have to be tested by the Millenium Eye to see if he was the worthy possesor of it. The eye tested Pegasus and it was revealed that he was the true heir to the Millenium Eye, and its powers allowed him to see Cecelia again, but he knew she was not reallty there. It was at this time that he realized that if he could gather all the Millenium Items and combine them with KaibaCorp's virtual technology, he would be able to revive his wife and be happy again."
As Tea finished reading from the journal, Yugi noticed the black soul card and realised that Pegasus must have released the three souls. As Tea, Joey, and Tristin headed off to find out if Mokuba was alright, Yugi walked slowly. Suddenly the floor became white and the mysterious figure that was in Pegasus's diary came out of the white hole. The man explained that there had been a disturbance of fate and that Pegasus no longer had the Millenium Eye. The man had come to find out who stole Pegasus's Millenium Eye. Sinec Yugi had one of the Millenium Items, it was possible that he craved the others and stole Pegasus's Millenium Eye. In order to find out, the man took the Millenium Key around his neck and used it to unlock Yugi's mind.
Inside Yugi's mind he found two chambers, one filled with innocence and purity, but the other was dark and mysterious. The man entered the dark mind and was confronted by Yami, who asked why he was here. The man explained that the Millenium Items were once again being collected by someone who wished to unleash the dark powers contained inside them. Yami granted the man passage through his mind, but the man may encounter mental defences.
The man serached and searched and finnally found the door he was looking for. As he entered the room, the floor underneath him began to tremble and crumble. As the man fell, he was rescued by Yugi. Yugi and the man kept on walking until they reached a chamber full of stone tablets. The tablets had pictures of Duel Monsters on them. The man explained to Yugi the histroy of the shaodw games. As he finished telling his story, the Dark Magician's tablet started to glow. The Dark Magician then appeared in front of them.
As the man prepared to use his Millenium Key to summoned the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Yugi told the dark Magician to go back. The Dark Magician paused and then disappeared. The man was shocked, since the Dark Magician only took orders from the pharoh himself. He realised that Yugi was the Chosen One and that histroy was repeating itself. Both minds returned to the real world and the man apoligised to Yugi was the intrusion. He explained to Yugi that Yugi was the Chosen One who was fated to one day have all the Millenium Items. The man then warned Yugi that there was a theif out there who wanted all the items and he would soon come after Yugi. As the man prepared to leave, Yugi asked for his name. The name told Yugi that his name was Shadi.
