As Yugi's turn began, he informed Joey that he wasn't going to fall for a bluff like that. Instead Yugi set a card under one of his hats. Joey was confused whether the face down card was a trap or not, but he confused himself. Joey attacked with Black Skull Dragon, but found another empty hat. At this point, Pegasus was amused by the strong bond of friendship that the two duellists had. He began to think about his own true love. He had met Cecelia at a young age and fallen in love with her. They had gotten married, but she died of disease after that. He had become bitter and selfish, determined to fight for what he wanted.
As the duel continued, Joey attacked one of the Magical Hats again, but only found Yugi's trap card, the Spellbinding Circle. Black Skull Dragon was paralyzed and its attack dropped by 700 points. Joey then switched Garoozis to defence mode. Yugi then told Joey that his dragon was finished. Yugi then powered up his magician with the Book of Secret Arts. The Dark Magician then destroyed Black Skull Dragon. Worried about the sudden change in power, Joey didn't realise that Yugi planned to use some of his Dark Magician's other special powers in the upcoming turns. Joey played Baby Dragon in attack mode and set one card.
Confident that the face down card was Time Wizard, Yugi attacked with his Dark Magician. Joey activated Kunai With Chain and trapped Yugi's magician. Yugi was shocked to find out that he had predicted worng, while Pegasus laughed to himself. Joey then summoned Time Wizard and activated Time Roulette. Time Roulette landed on Time Machine. Baby Dragon grew into Thousand Dragon, while the Dark Magician became an old man. Joey ordered his dragon to finish off the rest of Yugi's life points, but Yugi activated Makiou, the Magical Mist, which countered the attack.
Yugi explained that Time Wizard may had weakened the Dark Magician, but it had given it new powers. The Dark Magician had become the Dark Sage and the Dark Sage could play on magic card each turn. Yugi had chosen Makiou, the Magical Mist to counter the attack. Joey was shocked. Yugi then played Monster Reborn and revived Black Skull Dragon. Joey told Yugi to finish him off. Black Skull Dragon then attacked and destroyed Thousand Dragon(Joey's LP:0). Tea started crying because both Yugi and Joe had stayed friends, but Pegasus though to himself that she should save her tears for Yugi's duel against him.
Yugi and Joey met their friends outside the arena. Joey handed Yugi his Glory of the King's Hand card, but Yugi insisted that he keep it for Serenity's operation. Yugi told him that he only came here to save his Grandpa. As Joey thanked Yugi, he told yugi to take down Pegasus. But can Yugi beat Pegasus as long as he had the Millenium Eye?
