The Night Before
After witnessing Kaiba's defeat at the hands of Pegasus, the gang and Bandit Keith retired to a banquet in the dining hall. During the banquet, Croquet came by and congratulated them all for making it this far. Croquet then told them that to participate in the finals you must show a playoff card. Everyone was confused that he was talking about. Croquet explained that when they get their invitations, there were 2 cards in it called Glory of the King's Hand and Glory of the King's Opposite Hand. Each card would grant  the player's access to the final stage, but each brough a different prize. Glory of the King'd Hand allowed the winner to claim $3,000,000, while Glory of the King's Opposite Hand allowed the duellist to duel Pegasus for the chapionship title.
Joey was immeadiatly concerned because he never received an invitation in the first place. Bandit Keith was also lacking one of the two cards, so he knew he would have to steal one. Soup was given to everyone and the four duellists discovered an eye in their soup. They opened the eye to find a slip of paper with a letter on it. The letter would choose their opponent for them. Yugi(A) would duel Mai(B) in the first round, while Joey(C) would duel Bandit Keith(D). Joey was excited because he could have his revenge for Bandit Keith trapping him in the cave. Yugi and Mai look forward to duelling each other, but can Mai beat Yugi when she lost to Joey?
As the duellists prepared to go to bed, Joey confessed to Yugi that he might as well give up because he didn't have a playoff card. Yugi then offered Joey his Glory of the King's Hand. Joey was suprised, but Yugi told him that they only needed one of the two cards to qualify and that this way, both of them have a chance of winning the tournament. Bandit Keith was furious because he was the only duellist left without a playoff card.
That evening, all four duellists were preparing in different ways. Joey was sleeping a dreaming about food,Yugi was looking forward to seeing his grandpa after he beat Pegasus, Mai was fine tuning her deck, and Bandit Keith was waiting to steal a playoff card from one of the the other duellists. Tea, Tristin, and Bakura were also restless, but for a different reason. Tristin was sure that Pegasus cheated when he duelled Kaiba and was determined to find out how. The three of them returned to the duelling arena. They searched and searched and finally found a shaft of moonlight shining into the arena onto Kaiba's duelling platform. They discovered that the hole lined up where Kaiba's hand would have been to a tower on the other side of the castle.
Meanwhile, Yugi heard his Grandpa calling out to him, warning to beware of Pegasus. Yugi  headed off to find the source of hs grandpa's voice. As Tea, Tristin, and Bakura continue to search to see how Pegasus cheated, they found a grappling hook and rope. Tristin suggested that they climb to the tower to avoid being spotted. Back in her bedroom, Mai was changing her deck to beat Yugi, because she knew that Yugi knew most of her deck and that she would need some new strategies. While Yugi was following Grandpa's voice, he found the card with his Grandpa's soul. Seto and Mokuba's souls were there too. Grandpa warned Yugi that Pegasus was more powerful than anyone he could imagine and that Pegasus became stronger for every new soul he absorbed. He warned Yugi that Pegasus was after yugi's Millenium  Pizzle and if yugi wanted to beat Pegasus he would have to harness the true power of his Millenium Puzzle.
As the three arrived in the tower, Bakura discovered a large painting. They searched for a light, but the room suddenly illuminated. The painting had a picture of a women that was identical to another picture in the dining hall. Tea assumed that the woman must be special to Pegasus. The three began to debate who the woman was, but then Pegasus arrived and began to taunt the three for being in the wrong place. Tristin warned Pegasus that they knew how he cheated against Kaiba, but Pegasus denied to fact and then trapped them using his Millenium Eye. The room then dissolved and the three fell through the floor. They found themselves in an Egyptian tomb. Tea noticed that the picture of the woman was in this room too. They watched a ritual that was taking place. They began to realise that is was an ancient shadow game. The duel then ended and the winner took off his mask. He was none other than Pegasus.
Meanwhile, Yugi had just woken up from the middle of his dream that had Grandpa's soul. In the shadow realm, Pegasus informed the three that the loser of each duel was sent to the shadow realm, and with each new soul that he sent there, he grew more powerful. He then told them that the Millenium Eye may give him great power, but he wants to power to control life and death. As he prepared to trap the minds' of the three, Bakura's Millenium Ring activated revealing his dark spirit. Yami Bakura warned Pegasus that he would never wield all the Millenium Items. He then returned his friends to the real world. He erased the memory of the events that had just taken place and made it seem like a dream. Yami Bakura began to crave Pegasus's Millenium Eye.
Meanwhile, Bandit Kieht had sneaked into Joey's room and stolen his Glory of the King's Hand card and Mai had finished preparing her deck. Yugi was considering what his grandpa had said to him and how he would be able unlock the power of the Millenium Puzzle. Little does he realize that the power struggle between Pegasus and Yami Bakura could continue if he unlocked the Millenium Puzzle's true power.
